Project Title: 3
Project Title:

Using statistical data to compare the marks of a Form 3 Social Studies class of terms 1
and 2 for the year 2019-2020.
Introduction:
This Trinity College East Form 4 students frequently heard from their teacher that they
needed to study harder and dedicate more time to the subject of Social Studies. The class was
still housed in a physical school at that time. All classes were thereafter required to attend
online classes. The goal of this SBA is to identify how online classes affected the students'
Social Studies grades.

Objectives:
1. Calculate the mean Social Studies mark for the Term 1 end of term and Term 2 end of
term .
2. Calculate the median mark for the Term 2 end of term by drawing a cumulative
frequency graph.
3. Calculate the Interquartile Range for each term
4. Draw a histogram to determine the modal class for each term
5. Determine the number of students who scored above 50% in both terms.
Method of Data Collection:

The quantitative secondary data was supplied to the group by a Social Studies teacher. The
form 4 class of Trinity College East of the period 2019-2020 had a total of 37 students. The
marks for the first 2 terms of the academic year were collected at the end of term 1 (2019)
and end of term 2 (2020)
