Teachers are members of learning communities
Raise your hand if
you ever have a GLAD Next Generation
“supports educators in
hard time maximizing their efforts to
teaching ELD. promote growth and
development in all students,
I have a solution for you! particularly Multilingual
Learners/English Learners.”
I know many of you had questions about
implementing GLAD after our trainings.
My goal is to support you in your use of
GLAD pictorial input charts to aide in
English Language Development.
Through pictorial input charts we will develop
academic language among second and third grade
students. This strategy will benefit all students, but
specifically our English Learners.
GLAD Next Gen. to
support instruction
GLAD provides a dynamic,
inclusive and interactive
experience for all students, but
especially for English Learners
Ways that GLAD can help your students:
● The use of language in action-whether through expressive, situational or
productive register such as speaking and writing.
● Language in process through grammatical and lexical resources influenced by
context
● GLAD uses sensory supports (specifically visual) to make subject matter more
accessible
● GLAD uses graphic supports to organize information in ways students can digest
