GRAPHS of POLYNOMIAL FUNCTIONS

(Behavior of Polynomial Functions)

The behavior of the graph of a polynomial function in the far right and far left is called the end
behavior.
Although the graph of a polynomial may have intervals where it increases and decreases. The
graph will eventually fall and rise as it moves to the far left or the far right.

End behavior of
the graph changes in relation to the leading coefficient and degree of the polynomial function.
The graph of a polynomial function of degree n > 1 have
at most n – 1 turning points.
