Traffic jams happen more frequently in the rainy season because when there is heavy
rain many roads would get flooded, causing un-flooded roads to be even busier. As a
result, people get stuck on the roads for hours. You can imagine what a significant
issue this is given that the rainy season lasts six months a year. when the roads are
flooded, can threaten the safety of road users (driver). Road users will drive slower
when roads are flooded, which adds to traffic build up. Flooding has been worsening
in Phnom Penh city and creates significant issues, particularly during the rainy season
(May to October).
+Solution

The Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom Penh have to build the
flood relief system, and all the flood protection and drainage system have to improve.
Especially, they have to install a sewerage network, the construction of an
underground water reservoir and the construction of a pumping station, and install an
automatic mechanical bar to collect garbage in front of the drainage system of the
pumping station.

One of the easiest ways to improve traffic congestion is to remove the issue of
congestion arising from too many people trying to travel at once on any given road.
People should drive more sensibly and responsibility and it must be banned for the
driver who do not obey the law.
When a civil engineer’s design offers alternative routes to the same destination, this
can help reduce the number of vehicles in high-traffic areas.

All these block traffic flow and cause heavy traffic congestion. Also, if you park

Phnom Penh capital administration have to prepare designated parking areas. The
driver will pay a parking fee on the basic of parking time, then driver can park safely
and legally.
