Run some test such as antibody test, antigen/antibody
test and NATs.
Assess patient's medication.

Evaluate the patient's willingness to cooperate.

Promote skin integrity.


PLAN OF CARE:
Promote usual bowel patterns.
Prevent infection.

V/AIDS HI
Improve activity intolerance.
Maintain thought processes.
Improve airway clearance.
Improve nutritional status.

NURSING MANAGEMENT:

Nursing Assessment
-Nursing assessment includes identification of potential risk factors, including a history of risky sexual
practices or IV/injection drug use.
Diagnosis
-The list of potential nursing diagnoses is extensive because of the complex nature of the disease.

-Goals for a patient with HIV/AIDS.
Nursing Intervention
-The plan of care for a patient with AIDS is individualized to meet the needs of the patient.

WAYS OF PREVENTION:
Abstinence(not having sex)
Never sharing needles
Prevent Perinatal Transmission
Use condoms when having sex
PEP(Post-Exposure Prophylaxis)
