 To manage community outreach activities and guarantee the efficient and effective
sensitisation, mobilisation and participation of the communities targeted, thereby
maximising programme performance.
 Working closely with the Water and Sanitation Engineering team to mobilise
communities to support the construction and maintenance of water and sanitation
facilities such as water points, latrines and bathing areas
 Promoting safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and maintenance of WASH
facilities and services with the aim of reducing WASH related risks.
 Participate in carrying out needs assessments, baseline studies and periodic studies and
feedback findings to stakeholders.
 Liaise with community leaders and other sectors and agencies working locally in order to
coordinate within the WASH sector and between sectors such as health and shelter.
 Create an enabling environment for effective dialogue with the affected community to
allow the agency to be held to account for the quality of the WASH programme.
 Help identify needs for non-food items relevant to hygiene, participate in the choice of
items, targeting strategy, promotion of effective use and post-distribution monitoring and
reporting.
 Implement a Hygiene promotion programme that ensures links with the provision of
water and sanitation facilities and inputs.
 Participation and facilitation of participatory tools at community level including the Rural
Rapid assessment (RRA) as well as (PRA), PHAST and CHAST.
 Conduct and facilitate the Pre and Post KAP surveys in targeted community.
 Perform and document regular monitoring of all project sites; planned, on-going and
completed.

 Report, as required, on programme work and any management issues arising in each
assignment (to the area and country programme management teams)

 Actively coordinate with Donor, Governorate Health Office and District Health Office
on all health and nutrition activities.
 Ensure the implementation of agreed plans to achieve quality results and on time.
 Oversee/conduct assessments as needed in health facilities and communities in
coordination with the MOPHP/ GHO.
 Oversee comprehensive training programs for Community Health Volunteers as well as
health staff in CMAM, IMCI, etc.
 Oversee public health education campaigns to inform the target populations of key
messages surrounding nutrition and maternal and child health.
 Supervise, lead and guide the mobile team, Health and Nutrition Field Officer and part
of the project activities.
 Develop weekly and monthly work plans to achieve the program’s expected results.
 Provide regular updates and bi-weekly/monthly reports to Program Manager/Technical
specialist as required.
 Provide data, case studies and success stories.
 Organize and conduct internal and external joint monitoring visits;
 Monitor program implementation and ensure accurate, timely data collection and
submission of relevant reports;
