Why abortion should be legalized?

Abortions are among the safest medical procedures that can be performed when done by a
qualified healthcare professional in sanitary settings, even safer than childbirth. When the word
"abortion" is mentioned, many negative connotations, including murder and inhumanity, are
immediately brought to mind. However, prohibiting abortion causes significant problems for women
everywhere, not just in the Philippines. Pregnancy requires thought and preparation, so, why even
bother if it happens without either of these?
The first reason, why abortion should be legalized is because it supports the principal human
rights for women by giving them a decision or a choice; it decreases wrongdoing by diminishing the
number of children growing up non-ideal conditions. According to the National Bureau of Health
Research (2007), when complications arise during pregnancy, the doctor may decide to spare the
mother's life. Naturally, this implies that the mother lives and the fetus die, but losing both the
mother's and the unborn child's existences would be preferable. Abortion is encouraged in this
situation because it is better to save the mother's life through the procedure than to risk the lives of
the unborn child and the pregnant mother.
Another reason, raising a child is not an easy task and requires both financial resources as
well as social and ethical responsibility. If we can’t provide the child with a healthy upbringing then,
there is no point in bringing them into this world; they will only contribute to problems that should
never have arisen in the first place. The rights of a woman have been for her own benefit, but the
child is dependent on her for survival. Control over one's own body and the choice to have children
are two of a woman's most fundamental rights. She alone can decide at any given time whether she
is emotionally and physically capable of conceiving and raising a child.
Lastly, abortion should be legalized because there are reports from media about an incident
involving either a child or a woman who has been abused by either people they know or people they
don't. Therefore, legalizing abortion will address instances of unintended pregnancies resulting from
such cases as well as challenges during pregnancies. The victim shouldn't be blamed when an
assault results in pregnancy; the offender is. A large percentage of the victims are also unprepared
for these pregnancies. In this way, the best course of action to terminate these pregnancies is an
abortion. It gives them the opportunity to pursue their goals in an unrestricted manner all the way to
the top. If it becomes legal, it gives people the confidence to consult licensed medical professionals
and performs safe pregnancies that are not wanted. As a result, the likelihood of dying from
complications during an abortion is reduced. The Philippines is out of step with the vast majority of
the world, as shown by the World's Abortion Laws Map from the Center for Reproductive Rights.
Overall, legalizing abortion is an advantage for every young woman and to those who
experience rape and other sexual action without their consent. It ensures women's safety, wellbeing,
and human rights. Without it, women are being sentenced to suffer the negative effects of risky
abortion. Despite the fact that abortion should be legal, it is still illegal. Legal primarily because it is a
choice, and what happens inside a woman's body is her own. If we don't approve of it, it will
consequently violate a number of human rights. Since they don't know their history, I suppose it isn't
the government's place to impose laws against women's or any individual's decisions.
