Dear Members of the selection committee,

I am pleased to strongly recommend Mr. Deepak Sharma for your esteemed research internship
program.

I have known him for the past 6 months as I have taught him the course “Technical
Communication” in which he has scored a grade point of 10 and stood among the top 1% of the
class of 200 students. As his professor, I have had an opportunity to observe his participation
and interaction in class and to evaluate his knowledge of the subject matter. He is an
outstanding student in all respects. He has proven that through challenging follow-throughout,
and teamwork, he can accomplish tasks in a courteous and timely manner. I believe I am in a
position to provide you with my assessment of Deepak as a student and as a researcher.

Apart from his Mechanical Engineering knowledge, his programming skills and Machine learning
knowledge is eye-catching. He is also doing a Lab Based Project under my supervision in which
he demonstrated a solid command of basic ideas, algebra, machine learning, deep learning,
and analytical methods. In terms of personality, Deepak is an amiable, kind, sincere, diligent,
and committed student. In addition to the above-mentioned qualities, he has excellent
communication skills.

Mr. Deepak currently holds the Department Rank of 8 in the Mechanical Engineering Branch
with a CGPA of 8.86 out of the strength of 154 students in the Mechanical department of IIT
Roorkee. Mr. Deepak is also a sports enthusiast and part of the “NSO Chess” of the campus
and represented IITR in the Inter-IIT Chess tournaments held online various times. He was the
second runner-up of the “Ideathon” competition organized by NSS IITR during road safety
month where he proposed possible solutions that can be used to reduce road accidents due to
the habit of using mobile phones while driving.

Mr. Deepak is well-equipped to grow from the challenges that he is presented with. His
patience, research ability, strong knowledge of ML/AI, strong computer programming skills, and
communication skills prepare him beautifully for your program. I strongly endorse making him a
member of your team. I sincerely hope that you can add him to the list of esteemed candidates,
