Provide the teachings of the church about Reproductive Health (cite references)
The Catholic Church has a great influence on the state of sex education in the country. The
Catholic Church is against extramarital sex and fears that sex education will strengthen sexual
relationships. Therefore, the Catholic Church continues to be critical of her RH Act, adding to
the difficulty of concretely enforcing it. In addition, the Catholic Church opposes the
introduction of sex education in schools and the distribution of contraceptives. The
church prefers to rely on parents to educate their children about reproductive health.
However, many families are ill-equipped or do not address the issue directly with their
children.

What Sustainable Development Goal can we associate with RA 10354, and how
does it apply?
Sustainable Development Goal 5 seeks to “achieve gender equality and empower all women
and girls”. At the same time, the Reproductive Health Law aims to promote gender equality,
gender equality, women's empowerment, and dignity as health and human rights
concerns and social responsibility. The promotion and protection of women's human
rights shall be central to the efforts to address reproductive health care.
