Hello good day and a very good morning to my honorable judges, teachers and to my

fellow friends. Today, I would like to present a story entitled ‘The Greedy Man’. This
is how it goes…..

In a village far away there lived a fisherman in a small hut. One morning, the
fisherman took his fishing net and his hat to go out for fishing in the sea.

As he was walking, he would sing his favorite song ‘rasa saying eh rasa
saying-sayang eh, eh lihat tona jauh rasa saying-sayang eh’.

Then, as he reached the beach, he got onto his boat and rode to the middle of
the sea. Once he reached the sea, he threw his large net into the sea and he waited for
the net to wriggle.

Suddenly, he saw the net was moving. Then, he pulled up his net and was
amazed to see a colorful fish. He took that particular fish and looked at it.

Suddenly, he was astonished to see the fish speaks to him. The fish said to him,
‘Please let me go!!! I belong to the sea. I am a MAGICAL fish. I can grant you three
whole wishes’.

Then, the fisherman thought to himself and he came to a conclusion to let the
fish free. The fish then thanked him and asked him for his first wish. The fisherman
asked for a luxurious bungalow.

The fish said, ‘Your wish is my command’. Then, the fisherman rode his boat
excitedly onto the shore. As he reached the shore, he got down and ran to his hut. He
was amazed to see his hut turning into a luxurious bungalow. He was extremely
happy.

The next morning, he ran to the beach and got onto his boat and rode as fast as
he could to the middle of the sea. As he reached there, he called out for the fish.
‘Fishy…fishy…magical fishy…come out…come out where ever you are’.
 The fish came out and asked him, ‘What do you want ?’ The fisherman replied
‘I would like to have my second wish granted today’. ‘What is it ?’ the fish asked. ‘I
would like to have a castle with three cars’.

Then the fish said, ‘Your wish is my command’. As the fisherman went back,
he saw his luxurious bungalow changed into a castle with three cars popping out. He
was happy and glad to see how big his castle is.

The next day, the fisherman got into the boat and speed off to the middle of the
sea again. As he reached the middle of the sea, he called out the magical fish again.
‘Fishy…fishy…where are you? …it’s me the fisherman again’.

The fish then came out. The fisherman told the fish that he would like to see
his third wish granted today. His third wish was to be the king of the world. Then the
fish said, ‘You are such a greedy man, you don’t deserve to have any single thing’.

Then the fish changed the fisherman’s whole entire life to a poor man. The
fisherman was so sad and started to cry.

Now my friends, what did we learn from this story? The moral of the story is ‘Do
not be greedy and always be happy with what you have’.
