 Relevant research objectives:


1. To analyze the impact of identity and social formation in society

2. To be aware of the different ways to combat or compromise with the different ethnic
and cultural differences

3. To evaluate the political and economic power and social visibility

 A problem statement: Colleagues from specific cultures maybe less fortunate to let their
voices be heard.
 Two research questions: what are the views of Cultural diversity within the Caribbean
Which ethnic group or culture is most discriminated?

4. Explain what is meant by the “scientific method”.

A scientific method can be described as a method of procedure that has characterized natural
sciences since 17th century consisting in systematic observation measurement and experiment
formulation ,testing and modification of hypothesis.

State two ways in which the scientific method influences research in the social sciences

The scientific method, as applied to social sciences, includes a variety of research


approaches, tools, and techniques, for collecting and analyzing qualitative or quantitative
data. These methods include laboratory experiments, field surveys, case research,
ethnographic research, action research, and so forth
1. Social Research is conducted by following a systematic plan of action which includes
qualitative and quantitative observation methods.
2. A survey to monitor happiness in a respondent population is one of the most widely
used applications of social research.
