The document provides instructions for applying mesh controls, boundary conditions, and performing a finite element analysis on a pull-up bar model using ANSYS. Specifically, it instructs to:
1. Apply suitable meshing around holes and curved areas to obtain a fine mesh with average skewness under 0.25. Increase mesh density in areas of high stress.
2. Apply a 1000N force in the middle of the pull-up bar model. Apply appropriate boundary conditions to simulate the bolts. Calculate equivalent stress, total deformation, and safety factor.
3. Calculate the reaction forces on the bolts and ensure they match the theoretical calculations.
4. Assess whether the results are logical.

& BOUNDARY CONDITIONS 1- Two of the boundary conditions in the video were discussed, state the purpose of “elastic support”, “compression only support” and “frictionless support” and when to use them. Give examples if there is. 2- the pull up bar task which was given to you. Open ANSYS wb and import the .STEP file of the model given to you and apply the following:
a) apply a suitable mesh method, sizing and global controls
if needed to obtain a fine mesh around holes and curved areas - target an average skewness value under 0.25. - examine the areas where large stresses are expected using meh metric and increase mesh density as well as mesh quality in those regions.
b) apply a force of 1000N in the middle of the bar (you will
need to face split the rod) and insert suitable boundary conditions that simulate the bolts then calculate: Equivalent stress, Total deformation, safety factor. (NOTE: leave the automatic connection between rod and side plate as bonded)
c) calculate the reaction forces on the bolts. (Your
theoretical calculations from task 2 should be close to simulation results) d) Are the results logical to you? What could you change in the design if the safety factor is unacceptable? Deadline 24 hours = tomorrow 12pm اتناشر الضهر
