Religions In Ghana
Week 1-2: The Three Main Types of Worship in Ghana.

Worship is the act of showing devotion to God.
WORSHIP IN GHANA
Ghana has three main religions.
They Christian, Islamic and the Traditional religion.
But the Christian and Traditional religion,
worship by dancing and singing.
They all pray by reciting.
But some study holy writings

THE LORD’S PRAYER (Matthew 6:9-13)
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:

Introduction
Al-Fatiha ( ) or The Opening or The Opener is the first chapter, or
surah, of the Qur'an.
(RECITE OR SING)
AL- FÃTIHAH
In the name of Allah, the merciful and compassionate.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds
The merciful and compassionate
Ruler of the day of judgment
[It is thee] we serve and [it is thee] we implore for help
Guide us to (or show us) the path of the straight (i.e., righteous)
Path of those whom you favor, not
those who anger you and not those who have gone astray.

WEEK 9-10: Traditional Religious Passages and Songs

Objective: You will be able to recite a Traditional poem.
Traditional religious passages consist of recitals from the
traditional religion-sacred myths, riddle, proverbs, etc.

Week 1-2: The Birth of Jesus Christ

Objective: You will be able to narrate the story of the birth of Jesus
Christ.

THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST
Christianity was founded by Jesus.
An Angel of God told Joseph and Mary.
That Jesus will be born by Mary,
He shall be great.
His kingdom shall not fade.
Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem.
He was visited by shepherds and wise men.
To God Angels came from heaven to praise.
Little Jesus! Herod could not slay.
At Nazareth Jesus was raised.
Jesus grew in God’s grace.
In the spirit was he great,
and to Him wisdom God gave.

Week 3-4: The Birth of Prophet Mohamed

Objective: You will be able to narrate the story of the birth of
Prophet Mohammed
(Week 3: Pronounce and Spell; Week 4: Read)
THE BIRTH OF PROPHET MOHAMMED
Mohammed founded the Islamic Religion
He was a messenger of Allah.
He was born in Mecca
Abdulai, his father died before he was born.
His mother Amina died when he was six years.
He then stayed with his uncle.

Week 5-6: The Story of the Traditional Religion in Ghana

Objective: You will be able to narrate the story of the Traditional
Religion
STORY OF THE TRADITIONAL RELIGION IN GHANA
The Traditional Religion has no founder.
The religion is practised by all tribes of Ghana.
They believe in a Supreme God as the creator.
But worship God through smaller gods who are lesser.
Ewe, Akans, Guan and Gonja,
Ga-Adangbe, and Mole-Dagbani,
are the Ethnic groups who worship,
through their tradition and culture.

Parents must provide food, security, education and clothes.

Children help clean the house and wash bowls.
Let’s all play our roles,
To have a happy home.

Week 10-11: The Role of the Community in the Upbringing

of Its Members
Objective: You will be able to identify the role of the community in
the upbringing of its members.

My community consist of the people in my area.
My community is my teacher.
My community is my counsellor,
that must provide me education for my future,
