Summary about paragraph writing

We can define a paragraph as a basic unit of organization in writing in which a group of related
sentences develops one main idea. A paragraph does not need a specific quantity of sentences
can be short as one short sentence or long as seven. This means that the number of sentences
is unimportant; however, the paragraph should be long enough to develop the main idea.

A grammatically correct paragraph it's made up of a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and
concluding sentences.

a topic sentence it's the idea that represents the paragraph which means that what's the
paragraph about must be clear in the topic sentence.

The ideas that give more details about the principal idea are the supporting sentences and
they develop the topic of the sentences by giving reasons, examples, facts, statistics, and

Quotations. Some key words from supporting sentences are: first, because, on the other
hand, however, this is about, the reason is, another reason... etc.

Finally, we can finish our paragraph with the concluding sentence which leaves the reader with
important points to remember. We make sure that this final sentence makes clear everything
we include in our paragraph.

It is necessary that before writing a paragraph, we are clear about the information that we are
going to include in it and how we are going to organize it, in this way we can locate the clear
points already mentioned in this summary.
