II. Subject Matter:
A. Topic: BIODIVERSITY AND STABILITY
B. Learning References:
LEARNER’S MATERIAL pp.328-330
C. Materials:
 PowerPoint Presentation
III. Procedure

Teachers Activity Students Activity

4. Preliminary Activities:
5. Prayer

Okay class, let us all stand and feel the presence

of the Lord,

May I request someone to please lead the prayer

Dear Lord, we thank you for this day and the
many blessings we have received. We ask
that you bless the work that we do here in our
online class and give us patience, courage,
and perseverance to face whatever challenges
may come. Bless our teachers and students
with wisdom to learn from each other

Thank You Mr. for the heartful prayer

6. Greetings

Good morning Grade 10

Good morning, Sir
Another Day means a new lesson to be discuss
hoping that we all learn from this lesson

7. Checking of attendance

So who are absent for today

Very good! All of you are present for today’s

class

Maintain your presence everyday here today

school

2.ELICIT

Let us just take a quick review to the topic

we had discuss yesterday and we will have a
short quiz for that topic

What is our topic yesterday?

It is all on the evolution Sir.
Ms.____________ can please give us a little bit
description on what is evolution all about

Thank you, Ms., ______ Any change in an organism’s characteristics

over many generations Sir.
Let’s clap for her
(Student’s clapping)
Now we had a background for evolution we will
have a short quiz before proceeding to our new
topic to test your understanding about the past
topic

(QUIZ)

3.ENGAGE

Before we proceed to the topic itself, I

want you to fill in the table below to
assess your prior knowledge about
biodiversity and stability

But do not answer yet the column L we

will answer it after the topic had been
discussed

Bring out your notebooks copy the table

then fill out the blanks

I will give you 5 minutes to answer the

given activity

K W H L

What do What do How can What I

I know? I want to I find out had
find out? what I learn?
want to
learn?

(Students answering the activity)

Finish??? (After 5 minutes)

Very Good. Yes Sir

Now we will proceed to our topic

8. Explore

Biodiversity is a term that describes how

varied living things are in a specific area. It
changes over time as extinction occurs and
new species evolve

What does the word organism means?

Yes Mr. Phillip

So, very good Mr. Phillip An organism sir is all bout what we see in our
environment that has life
9. Explain

What is a species??

A group of genetically similar organisms that

interbreed naturally and freely to produce viable,
fertile offspring, but do not share this behavior
and outcome with individuals of other species

Now we will see the value of species

First is they maintain and balance the ecosystem.

They defend to one another to make more
efficient, productive, and sustainable ecosystem.
So, we must maintain high species diversity.
They provide services that we humans cannot
see.

For example, wherein we can see direct value of

species so in fishery and forestry man use them
also we consume those different kinds of species

Another example of value of species is in the

ecological processes they watershed protection
or the role of vegetation in carbon and water
cycles

Do you understand students??

Yes Sir

Now we proceed to our activity

So, turn your LM’s into page 331 we can see

there the table

ORGA VALU DIREC INDIR AEST

NISN E T ECT HEYI
ECON EECO C
OMIC NOMI VALU
VALU C E
E VALU
E

Listen to my instructions class

I will give you 5 minutes to go out and explore

what are the organism that is found in our school
campus then after that you will classify them if
it is direct, indirect or aesthetic value

Then you will present it in our class after the

said time will be consumed

Your time starts now

(Students doing the activity)

Now let us see what the organisms that you had
listed in your notebooks

Let’s start the presentation in front

(After the presentation)

Very good to all of you for cooperating with our
activity today

Let’s give ourselves a round of applause

We must maintain stability in the environment (Students clapping)

for us to prevent extinction of these species.
What is meant by stability?

Anyone??

Yes Mr. Dennis

Very good Mr. Dennis Stability is the method of maintaining a single

characteristic of an organism
Stability is the ability to maintain a steady state
even after the stress or disturbance has occurred.
In order for the ecosystem to be considered
stable it needs to have mechanism in place to
return it in its original state after the disturbance
occurs.

10. Elaborate
What are those changes or disturbances that are
usually present in our ecosystem?
Anyone??
Yes Ms. Ira
Exactly
Very good Ms. Ira Natural disasters sir
So we are experiencing natural disasters and
human make events that are being present in our
ecosystem.
When we are experiencing this situation the
effect also to our ecosystem is always being
observed
For example, floods many species also dies in
this situation those who cannot survive the
extreme water that is passing their sheds.
The effect of this disaster is the lost of different
kin of species that is contributing to the
ecosystem

11. Evaluate
Bring out ¼ sheet of paper then give 3
examples of the three types of biodiversity
You are given 6 minutes to finish the said
activity
12. Extend

So, for your assignment create or draw a graphic

organizer of biodiversity

That end our lesson for today class, have a good

day and God bless you all! Goodbye!
