The table presents the number of respondents, or frequency, and the percentage
of respondents falling into different income categories. The data shows that out of 50
respondents, 9 or 18% are earning less than Php 9,520 a month, while 10 or 20% of
them are earning between Php 9,520 and 19,040 every month. A study published in the
International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health found that low-
income young adults in urban areas in the United States were more likely to consume
fast food and eat outside the home due to the convenience and affordability of such
food options. Moreover, 8 or 16% of the respondents are earning between Php 19,040
and Php 38,080 a month, while 10% of the respondents are earning above Php 38,080
and below Php 66,640 a month. Lastly, 18 of them, or 36%, are earning the most, more
than Php 66,640 a month. Another study conducted in Malaysia showed that university
students with lower monthly allowances tended to eat out more frequently and had a
higher intake of fast food compared to those with higher allowances. Overall, these
studies suggest that customers eating habits and preferences can be influenced by their
income level, with those earning less per month being more likely to eat outside the
home.
