TAB Reaction Prompts

Write a brief paragraph about your reactions to the TAB experience you went through in class.
Answer the following questions to the best of your ability...

1.) How did the TAB experience effect you as a learner? My TAB reflection on the class
affected me as a learner by recognizing the element of design I chose in the assignment,
in Value. By visually having a project to show how each element can be expressed, a
student can grab the concept through experience of a style, and use of variety of
materials.

2.) What are the strong points to a TAB based classroom/lesson set up? What are the down
sides? I see the strong points of a TAB lesson would be having materials readily available
as a key importance for performing a task and completion to an assignment. Other
added points would be given students adequate time, gives a comfortable feeling that
students are not pressured to finish but have time for thoughts and ideas to arise.
Independency for choices and valued ideas would help engage in the creativity for
completion of assignments. Samples and demonstrations of project show steps in
success.

3.) The down sides would be not being ready in materials, skipping the reflections of what
the students thoughts were on the assignment, and teachers not being sensitive to
cultural and ethnic backgrounds of individuals.

4.) What are some educational theories of practices that are used/highlighted in the TAB
model? The educational theory of practices is learning the vocabulary to express and
think about your Art. By having to physically express each element and link into a
picture of choice you can envision the idea develop skills, understanding styles in
material and have action to plan, finally reflecting on the project.
