9) 10)
The table shows the frequency and percentage distribution of respondents according to age. Out of
10 respondents, the majority of respondents (100%) fall under the age bracket of 18 years old. The least
frequency is both 0% which is both 17 and 19 years old.
This age level has the capability of analysing the situation logically in terms of cause and effect.
Also this age bracket can make a mature decision making at the same time some needs guidance from
adults.
2. What is the level of awareness in marriage equality?
The struggle of LGBT+ people for equal rights has moved to center stage they battling not just in
congress, in courtroom but also in streets. LGBT people continue to face real discrimination in all areas of
life.
Throughout the century some countries has been allowing same-sex marriage. They are part of our
growing population but they still not yet given the same rights.
In question 2 out of 10 respondents, 60% of the respondents agree that same-sex marriage is
against their religious beliefs. A lot of people here in our country have a strong religious belief that’s why
same-sex marriage is still prohibited in our country.
In question 3 out of 10 respondents, 60% of the respondents did not agree that same-sex couple
should marry. We all have different perspective when it comes to these issues. Traditionally marriage is
between one man and one woman.
In question 4 out of 10 respondents, 60% of the respondents agree that marriage is for men and
women. The institution of marriage as a union of a man and women, uniquely involving the procreation and
learning of children within a family, is as old as the book of Genesrs (Baker V. Nelson,
gaymarriage.procon.org2021)
In above all respondents answer majority say that same-sex marriage shouldn’t be legalized in the
Philippines, because it will lose the original meaning of marriage. There were things that we cannot
immediately push through; sometimes we just need to wait until the process is done.
● SOP 1: What are the positive and negative views of society in terms of religious and constitutional
issues about marriage equality in the Philippines?
- The positive effect is people are aware that they existed and a lot of people giving them the
equality that they deserve while the negative effects is that our constitutional, religious beliefs
are getting against
SOP3: Is there any significant relationship between religious beliefs, constitutional issues and
society's perspective?
- Yes, there is significant relationship between religious beliefs, constitutional issues and society's
perspective.
