There’s nothing refined about the Cavite art
scene. It’s raw, gritty, and flawed—art in its
most visceral form. You’d be hard-pressed
to find fancy galleries in this part of the
south. You only find art if you look for it,
because it’s presence isn’t declared, but
only alluded to by roadside graffiti and word
of mouth.

Arts that are found inside of cavite are the


following: Battle of Binakayan Monument,
Nuestra Señora de la Soledad de Porta
Vaga, and Lakbay ng Lakan (Cavite)
Laguna ( Paeta)
The town of Paete in Laguna is one-of-a-kind. It is
the Woodcarving Capiital of the Philippines.
Often thought of as the art capital of the
Philippines, the town has already has a long
association with artisan crafts, woodworks—from
life-size statues of saints, to miniature sculptures
and wall hangings. The town is also famous for its
craft of colorful taka or papier-mache horses. The
town is known for two things: fine woodcarvers and
the golden sweet fruit of lanzones.

Batangas ( Taal )
Burdang Taal is the old native hand embroidery
tradition of the town of Taal, Batangas. It involves a
long painstaking process from the initial gathering and
drying of raw materials like pineapple and abaca fibers
to weaving these fibers using a loom which is especially
difficult to embroider on. There are popular designs like
callado and sinuksok. Its fine hand-embroidered Barong
materials, pillow cases, bed covers, table cloths and
napkins. The finest burdang Taal are found in workshops
and stores at Barangay Niogan and at the public market.

BALISONG ( KNIFE )

A butterfly knife, also known as a


balisong, fan knife or Batangas knife,
is a type of folding pocketknife that
originated in the Philippines. Its
distinct features are two handles
counter-rotating around the tang
such that, when closed, the blade is
concealed within grooves in the
handles.
The Higantes Festival is a local festival
held annually In Angono, Rizal, Philippines,
where hundreds of giant papier-mâché
puppets are paraded, representing the
common people's mockery of the bad
hacienda (land) owners of the past during
Spanish colonial rule.
Here are some of the pictures taken during the Festival
Kiping is usually eaten grilled or fried. It
can be dipped in sugar or vinegar or other
kinds of dips. Kiping can also be used as
decorations, especially during the Pahiyas
Festival, where bundles of kiping are
shaped into colorful chandeliers (called
arangya), giant flowers, and other
