Bullying at School.
HOUSE – MORNING
A young boy, JIMMY (9), walks out of his house with his backpack on and looks up at the school bus stop
across the street. His face drops, and he hesitates.
CUT TO:
Jimmy boards the school bus and looks around nervously for a seat. He spots an empty seat but sees a
group of kids giving him dirty looks. He decides to keep walking until he sees a friendly face, a girl named
LILY (9), who smiles at him and pats the empty seat next to her.
CUT TO:
Jimmy sits at his desk, looking down at his books, trying to avoid eye contact with the other kids.
Suddenly, a boy named TOMMY (10) walks up to him and pushes his books off the desk.
TOMMY
(laughing)
CUT TO:
PLAYGROUND – RECESS
Jimmy sits alone on a bench, watching the other kids play. He looks over and sees Tommy and his
friends laughing and pointing at him. Jimmy looks down at his hands, feeling helpless.
CUT TO:
The teacher is writing on the board when she hears a commotion in the back of the classroom. She turns
around to see Tommy and his friends picking on Jimmy, pulling his hair and teasing him.
TEACHER
(angrily)
TOMMY
(smiling)
The teacher sends Tommy and his friends to the principal’s office, and Jimmy is left alone, feeling
embarrassed and afraid.
CUT TO:
INT. PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE – AFTERNOON
Tommy and his friends sit in front of the principal, looking defiant.
PRINCIPAL
(disapprovingly)
Tommy rolls his eyes and looks at his friends, who all smirk at him.
CUT TO:
CLASSROOM – AFTERNOON
The bell rings, and Jimmy packs up his backpack, ready to go home. Lily walks up to him, smiling.
LILY
JIMMY
(nervously)
Lily and Jimmy walk out of the classroom together, and Jimmy looks back at the empty desk where
Tommy used to sit. He takes a deep breath, feeling like he can finally breathe again.
