    Dear Dickinson CPA Team,

    I was excited to hear of your posting for the Accountant Co-op position with Dickinson CPA
    as posted through the University of Victoria’s job portal. I am in my second year in the
    Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria pursuing my Bachelor degree in
    Commerce. Dickinson's commitment to fostering a learning and growth oriented workplace
    excites me. I found my background in Microsoft Office creating balance sheets and formal
    reports coupled with my strong worth ethic makes me a strong candidate for this position.

    During my time at UVIC, I have been exposed to various sides of the business world that align
    With Dickinson CPA. While in my Intro to Business Management course we had a section
    on accounting where we were tested on our ability to create professional balance sheets. This
    included identifying assets, liabilities and using correct Excel formatting. Additionally, I have
    been appointed head of the business team at the University of Victoria’s Environmental
    Engineering Club where I have created a budget and balance sheet as a lead for their business
    team.

    My experience running Burrard Yacht Clubs sailing program as an instructor and coordinator
    gave me the ability to professionally deal with clients and colleagues. Interacting with parents
    and their children required effective communication skills that allowed me to coach and to deal
    with any concerns that were raised. This experience taught me the importance of being a
    confident, respected team leader.

    My academic record shows my commitment to my studies, having taken six courses last
    semester I was still able to balance my responsibilities with the UVIC Environmental
    Engineering Club and class work to result in an average of 83%. I value my work ethics in
    school as well as outside of it and take responsibility for the results I create

    I am willing to undertake new challenges and develop the skills required to be successful and
    I believe that I can provide the necessary talent Grant Thornton LLP needs to thrive.
