Content Explorer
With Content Explorer in AutoCAD 2012, you can quickly find and access design content across multiple locations.
Find specific block references or text strings, including block attribute data. Quickly determine how many references there are in a file or find a particular reference across multiple files. Easily drag and drop content from Content Explorer into your current drawing. Access & Add Blocks, Text, Layers & Text Styles etc., into the current drawing

UCS
AutoCAD 2012 offers significant improvements for manipulating the User Coordinate System making it faster and easier to use.
The UCS icon has been updated to allow direct manipulation. You can select the UCS icon and then use the multi-functional grips to change the UCS. Easily move the origin, and automatically align the UCS with objects as you place it in its new location.

When you select a 3D solid or surface in your AutoCAD drawing, the Edit in Fusion tool is displayed in the AutoCAD ribbon. Choosing to Edit in Fusion automatically launches the Autodesk Inventor Fusion application, which is optional install included with AutoCAD 2012.

Import
The Import tool in AutoCAD 2012 supports CATIA, NX, Parasolid, Pro/Engineer, Rhino, and SolidWorks, and more.
The data is translated to native AutoCAD geometry and inserted into the drawing as a block. You can modify the data using standard AutoCAD editing tools. With AutoCAD 2012 you can even bring the imported model into Autodesk Inventor Fusion for more flexible editing and validation of your 3D models

Save time in AutoCAD 2012 by automatically generating intelligent documentation for AutoCAD, Inventor, and other 3D models.
If your drawing includes 3D solids or surfaces, whether they were created in AutoCAD or imported from other file formats, you can use the new model documentation tools to quickly create 2D drawing views. With the base view created you can continue on to automatically place projected views. By simply dragging in the right direction, you can place any of the 8 standard views. You can even create new projected views from existing ones.
