Significance of the Study

The significance of this research is to give critical information and expertise about

the selected topic from respondents, and recent studies or theses that will give

importance to individuals, as follows:

Future Researchers. The study will be important to researchers in the future because it

can help fill in gaps in the existing literature and guide future research on topics like how

first-time fathers participate in the role of infant care.

Community. The research will help the community to be aware of the needs of

first-time fathers and implement additional training in the area for them to have

knowledge regarding infant care. The training provided to first-time fathers will improve

and create a strong relationship between the father and its child.

First-time fathers. The research will benefit the first-time fathers as it provides

support and knowledge to further improve the infant care they provide to their child. It

provides education for them to have a deeper understanding of their roles in infant care.

Healthcare providers. This study will allow the healthcare providers to

determine the first-time fathers' involvement and their concerns in providing infant care.

This will also motivate the healthcare providers to make a plan and intervention to

address first-time fathers' concern, and to improve infant care

Students. The study will provide education about infant care and how it affects

the health status of a child. It will also provide education about the involvement and

attitude of fathers in infant care.

 Teachers. Aside from knowledge and awareness, the research will also allow the

teacher to provide guidance not only to the students but also to the first-time

fathers/expecting fathers regarding proper infant care and gain insights about the

factors that could affect the care provided to the child.

Sultan Kudarat State University Institution. The study can help institutions by

giving knowledge on the likelihood experiences, perspectives, and expectations of first-time

fathers. It also explores if fathers offer a distinctive contribution to parenting. The research is

also able to help institutions in better understanding the elements that influence first-time

fathers’ involvement in their families. Furthermore, the study also provides enlightenment to the

institutions to provide informational assistance to the first-time fathers in order to improve the

quality of care they give to their child.
