What is Requirement Engineering?

 Requirement engineering refers to the process of


defining , documenting and maintaining
requirements.
 It is the description of what the system should do .
 In the waterfall model , It is presented as first phase
of the development.
Requirement Engineering Process

 It is 4 step process which include.


1. Feasibility Study
2. Requirement Elicitation and Analysis
3. Software Requirement Specification
4. Software Requirement Validation
5. Software Requirement Management
Requirement Engineering Process

 Feasibility study:-A feasibility study is a preliminary exploration


of a proposed project or undertaking to determine its merits and
viability

 Requirement Elicitation:- In this stage gathering


information about the needs and expectations of
stakeholders for the software system.
 Requirement Analysis:- In this stage analyzing the
information gathered in requirement elicitation . And
redefine infor.
Requirement Engineering Process

 Software Requirement Specifications(SRS):-


• It’s legal document and it is description of a software system
to be developed.
• SRS is a document that captures complete description about
how the system is expected to perform.
 Requirement management:- It is the process of
managing changing requirements during the RE process
and system development.
