NAME: _______________________________________ STRAND/SECTION: ___________

What is uniform acceleration?

When an object is travelling in a straight line with an increase in velocity at equal intervals of time,
then the object is said to be in uniform acceleration. Free falling of an object is an example of uniform
acceleration.

EQUATIONS:
a = v/t
d = Vf t + ½ a (t)2
Vf = Vi + at
d = ( Vf + Vi ) t

SAMPLE PROBLEM
1. What is the final velocity of a ball rolling down an inclined plane with a velocity of 4.0 m/s and
accelerates at 2 m/s2 in 5.0 seconds?

2. What is the displacement of a sports car traveling at 10 m/s and accelerates at 4.0 m/s2 for 8.0
seconds?

3. What is the initial velocity of an automobile that accelerates at 5 m/s2 and has a displacement
of 114 m in 6 seconds?

4. A ball climbs up the hill with an initial velocity of 4.0 m/s and rolls down the hill at 6 m/s in 5
seconds. Determine the ff.
a. Acceleration
b. Displacement

5. What is the displacement of a horse rider with an initial velocity of 4 m/s and accelerates
uniformly with a velocity of 18 m/s in 4 seconds?

6. What is the initial velocity of an automobile acquiring a final velocity of 32 m/s with an
acceleration of 4 m/s2 for 5 seconds?

7. Two joggers starting from rest accelerates uniformly at 1.40 m/s2 for 8 seconds. Determine the
following:
a. Final velocity
b. Distance traveled
