Ramirez conquers RA'AM '23, clinches bronze medal

The pressure is gone. Ramirez belongs to the boxing field now.

Jerome Ramirez a Grade 10 student from Conde Labac Integrated School (CLIS), seized the bronze medal
haul after his thrilling run ends in Junior Boxing Flyweight Division during the Regional Athletic
Association Meet Boxing Tournament 2023 on Saturday, March 25, at the Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

Ramirez, a 15-year old first time boxer, appeared to have a formidable task ahead of him as he won to a
Nasugbu Boxer, Bjay Rodriguez, via split decision and settled for the bronze.

The Clisian boxer came out to have a full defense using his job-straight punches technique in the
opening round as Rodriguez lost an opportunity to wait for the right time to strike him down.

Shortly thereafter, Ramirez didn't waste a single time to unload his power and eventually return the
punches causing his opponent to nipped down.

On the third round, Ramirez already claimed his momentum as he made Rodriguez edged out of the
picture and continuously landed a flurry of punches against him.

Though clearly looking exhausted, Ramirez stand humbly proud and confident as he earned praises for
bringing honor to his beloved school.

Meanwhile, Ramirez's trainor, Sir Rocky Earvin Gonzales, boosted his trainee's inner self during the
competition to line up a fight inside the ring with full determination and confidence.

"At first, I was tensed but when I hop in to the ring, the nervous feeling reduced. I'm happy that I hailed
as the bronze medalist but I believe that it will not be possible without the support given by my parents,
my teachers as well as my classmates, my principal, and my coach, Sir Rocky.", said Ramirez.
