The Story Behind The Song "Kabilang Buhay"

Have you experienced loving someone so deeply? That it came to the point where you
already planned the future that you want together? You have already envisioned the dreams that
both of you wanted to achieve in this lifetime. You don't believe in forever. However, you started
believing it when he/she happened. The world was full of bright colors with him/her. But what
will you do if that someone is not meant to stay in this world for a longer time? Can you accept

Losing someone you loved is a different kind of heartache especially if that someone is
very special to you. This is what exactly the song entitled "Kabilang Buhay" by Bandang Lapis
wanted to tell us. As everybody knows, "Kabilang Buhay" is the Filipino term for the after death.
The song is about two people who fell in love with each other. They dreamt of a life together but
their story ended up in a tragic fate. One of them died while the other one was left behind. A love
story that came to an end because of one's death.

The song was sung slowly which deepened the gravity of pain and sadness that it wants
to convey to the listeners. The accompanying instruments being used in the song intensified the
emotions that the narrator of the story felt the moment he lost the love of his life.The vocals
effectively deliver the story with a sad tune that it can move someone to tears and be able to feel
the grief of losing a special someone.

If there's one thing that the song wants its listeners to realize is that death comes
unexpectedly. It is unpredictable. You will never know when someone will die. It can be today,
tomorrow, or in the near future. But the song wanted to tell you something. It is to love your
loved ones while you have the opportunity to do so and not only to realize their value when they
are already gone.
