MRO facility opened in Thiruvananthapuram

Maintenance, repair and overhaul
(MRO) unit of Air India set up
near the Thiruvananthapuram
International Airport was inaugurated on
December 16, 2011, by the then Minister
for Civil Aviation, Shri Vayalar Ravi. The

Air India wins Surjit hockey tournament


T
he All India Surjit Hockey
tournament is the Blue
Riband of Indian hockey in the
North. This is the most prestigious
tournament in India wherein only
12 of the best teams in the country
are invited.
The tournament was played on a
league-cum-knockout format with
four pools of three teams each.
The AI team was put in Pool D
along with the Corps of Signals and
Punjab and Sindh Bank, the former
winners of this tournament.
In the first match against the
team from the Corps of Signals, the
Air India team won the match 3-2,
with goals from Birender Lakra and
Rahul Shilpkar.

Punjab and Sindh Bank, AI won
