SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

– (2) for main wash

– (3) for softener
– (*) Moreover, there is a siphon part in the softener compartment.

Figure 5.4 Compartments of the detergent dispenser

Detergent, softener and other cleaning agents

•Add detergent and softener before starting the washing program.
•Never leave the detergent drawer open while the washing program is running!
• When using a program without prewash, do not put any detergent into the prewash
compartment (
compartment no. "1").
•In a program with prewash, do not put liquid detergent into the prewash compartment
(compartment no. "1").
•Do not select a program with prewash if you are using a detergent bag or dispensing ball.
Place the detergent bag or the dispensing ball directly among the laundry
in the machine.
• If you are using liquid detergent, do not forget to place the liquid detergent container into
the main wash compartment (compartment no.“2”).
When machine is in Drying step, do not add any washing chemicals (Liquid detergent
, SOFTENER, ETC.).
Choosing the detergent type
Detergent type to be used depends on the fabric type and color.
 Use separate detergents for color and white laundry items.
 Wash your delicate garments only with the special detergents which are used for
delicates (liquid detergent, wool shampoo, etc.).
 You are recommended to use liquid detergent when washing dark color garments or
quilts.
 Only wash the woolens with the special detergent used for woolens.

WARNING: Use only detergents manufactured specifically for washing machines.

19
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

WARNING: Do not use powder soap.

Adjustment of detergent amount

The amount of washing detergent to be used depends on the amount of laundry, the
degree of soiling and water hardness.
 Do not exceed the dosages which are recommended on the detergent package in
order to prevent the excessive foam and bad rinse results, to save detergent and to
protect the environment.
 Use lower amounts of detergent for a small amount of laundry or slightly soiled items.
Using softeners
Pour the softener into the softener compartment of the detergent drawer.
 Do not exceed the (>max<) level sign on the softener compartment.
 If the softener lost its fluidity, dilute it with water before putting it into the compartment.
USİNG LİQUİD DETERGENTS
If the product has a liquid detergent container
 Make sure that you place the liquid detergent container into the compartment number
“2”.
 If the liquid detergent lost its fluidity, dilute it with water before putting it into the
detergent container.

Figure 5.5 Use of liquid detergent container

If the product does not contain a liquid detergent cup:

 In a prewash program, do not use liquid detergent for prewash.
 Liquid detergent leaves stains on your items when delayed start function is used. If you
are going to use the Delayed Start function, do not use liquid detergent.

Using gel and tablet detergent

Apply the following actions when using tablet, gel detergents, etc.
 If the gel detergent is fluid and if your machine does not have a special liquid detergent
container, put the gel detergent into the main wash detergent compartment during first
20
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

intake of water. If your machine contains a liquid detergent container, fill the detergent
into this container before starting the program.
 If the gel detergent is not fluid or it is a capsule liquid tablet, put it directly into the rum
before starting the washing cycle.
 Put the tablet detergents into the main wash compartment (number “2”) or directly into
the drum before starting the washing cycle.
Tablet detergents may leave residues in the detergent compartment. If you
encounter such a case, place the tablet detergent between the laundry, close to the
lower part of the drum in future washings.

Use the tablet or gel detergent without selecting the prewash function.

Using starch
 Put the liquid soda, powder soda or the fabric dye into the softener compartment.
 In a wash program, do not put softener and soda at the same time.
 After using soda, wipe the inside of the machine with a damp and clean cloth.
Using bleaches
 Add the bleach at the beginning of the washing cycle by selecting a prewash program.
Do not put detergent in the prewash compartment. As an alternative application, select
a program with extra rinse and add the bleaching agent while the machine is taking
water from the detergent compartment during first rinsing step.
 Do not use bleach by mixing it with detergent.
 Use a small amount of bleach (1/2 tea glass-approx. 50 ml) and rinse the laundry well
since bleach will cause skin irritation. Do not pour the bleach onto the laundry and do
not use it with the colored items.
 When using oxygen-based decolorant, select a program which washes the laundry at a
low temperature.
 Oxygen-based decolorant can be used with the detergent; however, if it is not at the
same consistence, first put detergent in the compartment number “2” in the detergent
dispenser and wait for the machine to flush the detergent when taking in water. While
the product continues taking in water, add bleach in the same compartment.

Using limescale remover

 When it is necessary, only use the descaling agents which are intended and
manufactured for the washing machines.

5.4 Preparing the machine

1 Check if the hoses are connected tightly.

2 Plug in your machine.
3 Turn the tap on completely.
4 Place the laundry in the machine.
6 Add detergent and fabric softener.

5.5. For washing program selection

1. Determine the program suitable for the type, quantity and soiling level of the laundry in
accordance with the "Program and consumption table".
2. Select the desired program with the Program Selection button.

• Programs are limited with the highest spin speed appropriate for that
particular type of fabric.
• When selecting a program, always consider the type of fabric, color,
degree of soiling and permissible water temperature.
• Always select the lowest required temperature.
Higher temperature means higher electricity consumption.

5.6.Washing programs
Depending on the type of fabric, use the following main programs.

You can set you machine to switch to drying step at the end of washing
cycle by pressing the Drying button after you have selected the washing
program for your laundry. Each time you press the button, info line shows
at which step the drying process will take place and the relevant symbol
will turn on. If you want,
by continuing to press the button, you can perform drying for the
maximum period of time allowed by the machine for drying.
• Figures in the program steps and the texts inside it are schematic and
may not match the product exactly.
• When you will perform washing and drying by using the drying function
of your machine, load maximum 5 kg of laundry into the machine. If you
load excessively, your laundry will not dry and machine will operate for a
long time and consume more energy.

a) Select the desired program with the Program Selection button.

25
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

 Cottons
Use for your cotton laundry (such as bed sheets, duvet and pillowcase sets, towels,
bathrobes, underwear, etc.). Your laundry will be washed with vigorous washing action
for a longer washing
cycle.
• You can dry your laundry after the washing cycle without any interruption
(you can make automatic or time selective drying can be performed after
washing). For this, you should also select the drying function before
starting the washing program.
• According to the drying selections which you will add to the washing
programs, you can see when the program will end on the display of the
machine.
• If you don't want drying to take place after the program you have
selected, press and hold the Drying auxiliary function button until the
Drying light is turned off.
 Synthetics
Use to wash your synthetic clothes (shirts, blouses, synthetic/cotton
blends, etc.). It washes with a gentle action and has a shorter washing cycle compared to
the Cottons program.
For curtains and tulle, use the Synthetic 40˚C program with prewash and anti-creasing
functions
selected. As their meshed texture causes excessive foaming, wash the veils
/tulle by putting little amount of detergent into the main wash compartment. Do not put
detergent in
the prewash compartment.

You can dry your laundry after the washing cycle without any interruption (you
can make automatic or time selective drying can be performed after washing).
For this, you should also select the drying function before starting the washing
cycle.
According to the drying selections which you will add to the washing
programs, you can see when the program will end on the display of the
machine.
If you don't want drying to take place after the program you have selected,
press and hold the Drying auxiliary function button until the Drying light is
turned off.

the tag of your
clothes. Use appropriate detergents for woolens.

Drying function cannot be selected for the woolen wash program.

26
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

 Cottons Economy

Use to wash your normally soiled, durable cotton and linen laundry. Although
it washes longer than all other programs, it provides
high energy and water savings. Actual water temperature may
be different from the stated washing temperature. When you load the machine with less
laundry (e.g. ½ capacity or
less), program duration may automatically get shorter. In this case,
energy and water consumption will decrease more, providing a more economic wash. This
program is available
in the models with the remaining time indicator.

You can dry your laundry after the washing cycle without any interruption
(you can make automatic or time selective drying can be performed after
washing). For this, you should also select the drying function before
starting the washing
program.
• According to the drying selections which you will add to the washing
programs, you can see when the program will end on the display of the
machine.
• If you don't want drying to take place after the program you have
selected, press and hold the Drying auxiliary function button until the
Drying light is turned off.

 Delicate
Use to wash your delicate laundry. Your laundry will be washed with more gentle washing
action compared to
the Synthetics program.

 Hand Wash
Use to wash your delicate clothes that bear “not machine-washable”
tags and for which hand wash is recommended. Your laundry will be washed with a very
gentle washing action in
order not to damage the clothes.

 Express
Use this program to wash your lightly soiled cotton laundry in a short time.
• You can dry your laundry after the washing cycle without any interruption
(you can make automatic or time selective drying can be performed after

6. Maintenance and cleaning

38
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

Service life of product extends if it is cleaned at regular intervals and

6.1 Cleaning the detergent dispenser

Clean the detergent drawer at regular intervals (every 4-5 washing cycles) as shown below
in order to prevent accumulation of powder detergent in time.

Figure 6.1 Cleaning detergent dispenser

1. Pull the detergent compartment towards yourself and remove it out by pushing onto the
marked point of the siphon on the softener compartment.

If water and softener more than a normal amount start to stay on the softener
compartment, siphon cleaning should also be performed.

2. Wash the dispenser and the siphon in the lavatory with an ample amount of lukewarm
water. In order to prevent the residues to contact your skin, clean it with an appropriate
brush by wearing a pair of gloves.
3. After the cleaning, replace the dispenser in order to make sure that the siphon is
seated into its place well.
6.2 Cleaning the Loading Door and the Drum

Softener, detergent and dirt residues may accumulate in your machine in the course of the
time and lead to complaints of odor and bad wash results. To prevent this, use Drum
Cleaning program. If the Drum Cleaning program is not available on your machine, use
Cotton-90 program by selecting also the Water or Extra Rinse auxiliary function. Perform
these processes definitely without clothes and only when the machine is empty. Before
starting the program, put one teacup (max. (compartment no. "2"). If the anti-limescale
agent is in tablet form, put only one tablet into compartment no. "2". Dry the inside of the
bellow with a clean piece of cloth after the program has come to an end.

Repeat Drum Cleaning process in every 2 months.

Use an anti-limescale agent suitable for the washing machines.

Make sure that there is not any foreign bodies left inside the drum after each wash.

39
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

Figure 6.2 Cleaning the bellows

If the holes on the bellow shown in the figure is blocked, open the holes using a toothpick.

Foreign metal substances will cause rust stains in the drum. Clean the stains on
the drum surface by using cleaning agents for stainless steel. Never use steel
wool or wire wool.

WARNING: Never use sponge or scrub materials. These will damage the painted
and plastic surfaces.

6.3 Cleaning the body and control panel

Wipe the body of the machine with soapy water or non-corrosive mild gel detergents as
necessary, and dry with a soft cloth.
Use only a soft and damp cloth to clean the control panel.

6.4 Cleaning the water inlet filters

There is a filter at the end of each water intake valve at the rear of the machine and also at
the end of each water intake hose where they are connected to the tap. These filters
prevent foreign substances and dirt in the water to enter the washing machine. Filters
should be cleaned if they are dirty.

Figure 6.3

1. Shut the taps.

2. Remove the nuts of the water inlet hoses and clean the sediments on the filters of the
water inlet valves with an appropriate brush. If the filters are too dirty, remove them
40

from their places with a pliers and clean in this way.

3. Remove the filters on the flat end of the water inlet hoses along with their seals and
wash them under water well.
4. Replace the seals and filters carefully and tighten their nuts by hand.

6.5 Draining the remaining water and cleaning the pump filter

The filter system in your machine prevents solid items such as buttons, coins and fabric
fibers clogging the pump impeller during discharge of washing water. Thus, the water will
be drained without any problem and the service life of the pump will extend.
If the machine fails to drain water, the pump filter is clogged. Filter must be cleaned
whenever it is clogged or in every 3 months. Water must be drained off first to clean the
pump filter.
In addition, prior to transporting the machine (e.g., when moving to another house) and in
case of freezing of the water, water may have to be drained completely.
WARNING: Foreign substances left in the pump filter may damage your machine or
may cause noise problem.

WARNING: If the product is not being used, tap should be shut, mains pipe should be
removed and the water inside the machine should be emptied against any likely
freezing.

WARNING: Shut the tap which the mains pipe of the product is connected to after each
use.

In order to clean the dirty filter and discharge the water:

1. Unplug the machine to cut off the supply power.

WARNING: Temperature of the water inside the machine may rise up to 90 ºC. To
avoid burning risk, filter must be cleaned after the water in the machine cools down.

4. Open the filter cap.

Figure 6.4

5. Some of our products have emergency draining hose and some does not have.

Water intake in all programs is done by the information obtained from water level
sensor. Whether or not the water level has reduced below levels determined
according to the steps is checked by the water level sensor. If the water level has
reduced, water is filled up to the target level with the water level sensor.

1. In the following conditions, on the other hand, water is filled by the water level
sensor:
 If the previous program was cancelled and a new one started,
 If power was cutoff during water intake,

2. Top closure algorithm is applied during program startup.

3. Water is taken in 2 parts to calibrate load sensor (products with load sensor)
after top closing algorithm. It’s the level indicated as SS_P0 in the graphic.
Details are explained in Load sensor section. Later water intakes are realized
according to the levels determined according to the programs.

4. Amount of load in the machine is determined according to number of valve

opening in this step.
 If it is 8 kg machine, max. water intake is limited to 8 in Cottons program.
o if number of opening: is 1, low load,
o if number of opening: 2 - 5, Medium Load,
o if number of opening: is >8, high load is detected.
Max. water intake number may change according to energy declaration
target.
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

 In Synthetics program,
o if number of opening: is 1 or 2, low load,
o if number of opening: is >2, medium load is detected.
Depending on the low, medium or high load, washing parameters such
as heating step time, rinse water amount are changed.

5. After completion of main water intake step, a step called 'water completion
step' is carried out. This step is a step realized to complete the water
according to load amount determined after detection of load amount. It is
carried out before the heating step.

6. When water level drops below Psafety (Pg) level in washing steps during and
after heating, heater is turned off. Water is taken from the main wash valve.

7.2. Heating Profile

Hysteresis profile is used for all programs.

Information about the amount of hysteresis according to the program is included in

the variable file.

In programs where there is risk of damaging textiles such as woolens or hand wash,
hysteresis value is maintained high. For this reason, heating profiles of these
programs can be seen as hysteresis.

Temperature

Time
Cold wash step Heating step tx Washing step after heating

Figure 7.3 Graphic for heating with hysteresis

Once the machine reaches the max. set temperature (Tset) for the machine, heater is
deactivated, but remains in heating step.

When temperature drops in the amount determined in the software, (T) heater is
reactivated.

This process goes on until the time designated for heating step is completed (tx).
46
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

When heating profile with hysteresis is used, adverse affecting possibility of max.
reached temperature by the following is minimized:

 Input temperature of water lower than ambient temperature,

 Low input voltage,
 Excessive water intake by the machine,

7.3. Anti-foaming Profile

Following profile is used to decrease foaming at the end of main wash:

 Discharge the water inside the machine after main washing step is finished. (If
additional water is taken without discharging water, foam overflow will occur.)
o Movement in discharging 80 rpm – 12 s on – 10 s off)
 Wait 2 sec.

 Intake water by time. (10 s; may vary according to control systems.)

 Wash for 5 min. in woolen washing percentage. (to extinguish foam)

o Movement 30 rpm – 3 s on – 80 s off)

 Discharge the water and continue with main wash end spin.
o Movement in discharging 80 rpm – 12 s on – 10 s off)

7.4. Foam Detecting and Extinguishing Algorithm

If foaming occurred in the machine is determined by water level check during spin; if
foam occurred, profile is applied to extinguish and discharge.

 If the measured level is higher than the determined foam level;

o Motor is stopped for 280 s,
o Water is taken for 4 s,
o Motor is stopped for 30 s,
o Psafety 4 + 6 s pumping performed.
o Water is taken for 4 s,
o Motor is stopped for 30 s,
o Psafety 4 + 6 s pumping performed.
o Water is taken for 4 s,
o Motor is stopped for 30 s,
o Psafety 4 + 6 s pumping performed.
o Spinning starts again.
 This control is repeated 3 time in each spin.
 If the foam level is still high at the end of all 3 trials, spin is skipped to switch to
the next step.
 Extra rinse is determined according to the number of foam detecting.
o If 1-2-3, 1 rinse,
o If 4-5, 2 rinses,
o If more than 5, 3 rinses are added.

47
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

 If the foam level is still high after trying 3 times in the last spin step, program is
finished without spinning.

7.5. Balanced Unbalanced Load Sensing Algorithm

In conventional unbalanced load algorithm, only the load in the machine is measured
and spinning decision is made accordingly.

Error risk is high in unbalanced measurement results acting on the load distributed
evenly.

This is why the balanced load is measure and unbalanced is measured after that.
Decision is made depending on both of them.

400 d/d spinning is made for balanced load measurement and motor is stopped.
Balanced load amount in the machine is measured checking parameters such as
time to fall.

400 d/d is carried out before spinning of that program. It’s measured only once.

For example:
 First spinning in cottons program is at the end of mainwash. 400 d/d spinning is
carried out before spinning at the end of main wash.
 As there are no intermediate spins in Cottons Anti-creasing program, 400 d/d
spinning is carried out before final spin.

Unbalanced load limits determined according to measured balanced load are as

7.6.3. Water Intake Profiles in Drying Programs

Water intake in drying programs has two purposes. Drying is made using water.

First is water intake at the end of Thermal Spinning. Water is leaked into the machine
through elbow under detergent drawer due to vibrations during Thermal Spinning.
This is why, elbow cannot be used and humidity occurs in Detergent Drawer during
52

drying. 0.35 liter water is taken into detergent drawer at the end of Thermal Spinning
to prevent this.

Figure: 7.9 Water transfer from drum water input (elbow) to drum during thermal
spinning (transparent part is used for display. Normal part is not transparent.)
Second is in drying phase1, drying phase2 and ventilation steps. Water is used to
remove humidity from drying air. In drying phase1, drying phase2 and ventilation
steps water is taken in intervals specified in variable. Water Intake period and
frequency may vary according to programs. Water taken during drying is taken
through condenser valve and sent to condenser through nozzle.

8.3.Water Level Sensor

An analog water level sensor which is fed by 5 V voltage is used. This sensor
ensures that the water level is determined instantly with the frequency values which it
generates against the pressure created. There are frequency values corresponding
to the all pressure values. An infinite number of levels can be determined in the
analog water level sensor. Water levels change according to the wash criteria of the
designed program depending on the selected program, temperature and auxiliary
function.

67
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

Analog water level sensors are pressure – displacement inverter components in

general.
Analog water level sensors generates frequency modulation as output.
There are basically 2 capacitors, 1 coil and an inverter circuit on itself or the control
system to which it is connected.
Pressure increase pushes a ferrite part inside the sensor into the coil. Therefore L
(inductance) value of coil winding changes and the output value of the sensor –
inverter system changes. Therefore pressure value can be measured in an analog
manner.
The amounts of water to be taken in for the programs are controlled by the water
meters. Water level sensor serves the basic functions of deciding to take in water
again, control the heater safety level, door opening level or foam level.
Also, if there are any error in the water meters or its connections, water is taken in
with the water level sensor.
Cable inputs
5VDC / Data / GND.

Operating Voltage : 5 VDC

When it is empty, 625 ± 2 Hz frequency value should

be read from the Data and GND terminals.

Operating Voltage : T100

Input and output voltage can be checked by

measuring.

Also, control can be made between inlets and

outlets with short circuit control.

8.5.Washing Motor

8.5.1 Atlas Motor

Picture 8.9 Motor

Picture 8.10 Motor (Atlas motor and motor card)(discrete)

Brushless motor is used. Motor stator is composed of 3-phase coil and there are
magnets on rotor. Rotor position is detected on the Askoll type hall sensor and stator
coils are energized with the help of an inverter. In Atlas version,
Rotor position is detected without using hall sensor and stator coils are energized
with the help of an inverter.

Besides the main board, there is also an integrated motor driver card on the Askoll
type motor. However, Atlas type motor card is discrete. While the motor and the
motor card can be serviced individually on Atlas type, grouped service is given in
Askoll type as the motor and motor card are integrated. Motor card and main card
communicates with each other to ensure motor speed control. Main board is the
prevailing unit; what the reference speed will be is determined by the main board.
However, all other control algorithms required for motor driving are realized by the
motor driver card. While motor speed measurement is detected by hall sensor on
Askoll type, speed detection on Atlas type is provided by software without using an
additional sensor.
Under abnormal conditions (like continuous locked rotor status), thermic component
is used to protect motor from overheating. In addition, locked rotor status can also
detected by the software to ensure protection.

8.6.Safety Switch (Door lock)

Rated Operating Voltage : 250V 50-60Hz

Operating Current : 10-50 mA
PTC Resistance : Min. >=50 ohm
Contact Locking time : <=8s
Contact Engaging time : 35...70s
Operating Temperatures : T85

Picture 8.11 Safety switch

PTC door safety lock was used. When any wash program is started after the door is
closed, PTC disk is heated and the door is locked and it is prevented to be opened
when the program is in progress.
After the program finishes, PTC cools down in 70 sec and the door is unlocked.
Current of all components passes over the door safety lock. Machine will not work in
case it is faulty.

When 220V is supplied between the contacts numbered 3 and 1, the distance
between the contacts numbered 3 and 2 should switch to closed position.

8.7.Door Switch Group

It is used to detect if door is open or closed while operating.

Operating Voltage : 5 V dc
Operating Voltage : T85

Check short circuit using multimeter on contact

ends.

Open and closed positions must be observed

8.8.Manual Reset Thermal 175 C

This component is mounted on heater channel as two parts and found on top of
heater. The component prevents damages that might occur due to increase in heater
surface heat when air flow is suddenly blocked (caused by fan failure or channel
blockage).

Air heater is driven over the thermal component and cuts the air heater energy by
tripping reset button on thermal when temperature is over 175C. After failure is
repaired by service and required checks are completed, buttons on thermal is
pressed and air heater is enabled again.

8.9.Drum Water Heater

It is used to heat the water inside the boiler.

Since it is an electronically controlled machine, there are double thermofuse at the
heater inlets.

When the heater operates dry, the overheated thermofuse open-circuits the heater.
Open circuited heater cannot be used again. In order to prevent the heater to
operate without water “during heating”, heater safety water level is defined to the
microprocessor (Psafety). When the water level which is measured by the water level
sensor comes under the defined Psafety level, heater is disabled.

When the water temperature which is read by NTC reaches to the “selected
temperature”, heater is disabled by the microprocessor.

8.10.Air Heater (For Drying)

It is mounted on heater channel found after process fan on air heater drive group. It
is secured in 1 screw hole on flange area in the channel and bracket on the other end
of heater is secured in the channel. In order to provide air tightness, there is a silicon
seal adjacent to flange and this seal is resistant to 150 °C heat. Incorrect assembly of
heater may cause hot air leakage through this seal.

Heater diameter is 6.25 mm and has a power rating of 1300 W. There is not thermal
fuse member on contrary to water heater in the drum. It is used to heat air that pass
through the channel and maximum heater surface temperature during operation is
600°C.

9.14.Step No 15 Displaying of the Errors Occurred in the Service Mode

85
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

Explanation:
All components are closed.

When know is moved to related position in 7 Segment(8-9-10-11-12) , "Service

Mode" is shown and if a security algorithm is defined regarding the error, it will be
applied. After the Security Algorithm is completed, it goes into the "OFF Mode". In the
"OFF" mode, if it still continues and if it is sensed again and there is a security
algorithm defined for this error, this time a security algorithm is tried to be completed
in the "OFF" mode.

When entering the Service Mode again, if the error is corrected, no error code is
given again.

If there are more than one errors in the "Service Mode", the error with a higher risk
degree is shown first and the security algorithm, if any, of this error is applied.
When the test mode is entered after this error is eliminated, next higher degree risk
error is sensed, an error code is assigned and the security algorithm, if any, of the
error is applied.
In this way, it is aimed in the Service Mode that the errors are sensed one by one and
eliminated accordingly.

Errors which are encountered in the Service Mode cannot be recorded to EEPROM.
Namely, it is not permanent. At the entry and exit of the Service Mode (with the error
algorithm applied or in case the machine is switched off by pressing the "ON/OFF"
button for 3 seconds or de-energized), this error code is deleted from the volatile
memory. At each entry to the Service Mode, it is sensed again if the error is not
corrected. If corrected, the same error code shall not be displayed again.

Information mode auxiliary knob position

If you want to see any data, turn the program knob to the relevant position.

Condition to pass to next step

Timeout:If there is not any error and "Start/Standby" button is not pressed within 2*3
= 6 minutes, it goes into "OFF" mode.

If there is an error and the error algorithm is not completed within 2*3=6 minutes, it
goes into "OFF" mode. If this error is sensed in the "OFF" mode again, this time the
security algorithm of this error will be applied in "OFF" mode.

Switching to next step

If the "Start/Standby" button is pressed, 2 different steps will be taken depending on
whether error is detected in the "Service" mode:
1) If an error is detected in the "Service" mode, First step of the "Service" mode is
entered.
2) If no error is detected in the "Service" mode, How Many Times was ”How many
times was the Service Mode completed successfully" which is the last step of the
"Service Mode is started.

86
SYK ANK SERVICE MANUAL

NOTE: If "ON/OFF" button is pressed for 3 seconds, machine goes into "OFF" mode.

9.15.Step No 16 How many times was the Service Mode completed

successfully?

Explanation
This step shows how many times the "Service" mode is completed without errors.

This step is taken if no errors are encountered in the "Service" mode and the
"Service" mode is completed without any problem. Counter is increased by one and
stored in the permanent memory. If error is encountered, this step will not be taken
and therefore counter is not increased.

Information mode auxiliary knob position

Knob is moved to position 13.

Warnings to be written on 7 Segment Display:

How many times was the "Service" mode completed without errors and problems is
written in the form of "????".

Condition to pass to next step

water is taken from the main wash compartment. Is it so?
(Picture E17-1)

Yes

Explain the customer the following

Antifoam measures.

Foam formation reasons and prevention methods,

1) If you add detergent in the prewash compartment although you have not
selected prewash, detergent is taken from this compartment while rinsing the
laundry and cause foam formation.
2) You should use detergents for automatic machines.
3)Laundry can remain with detergent as a result of using excessive detergent. You
should try to use only adequate amount of it.
4) Keep your detergent in a closed and dry place.
5) You should use less amount of detergent than ever for your lacy laundry.
6) You should not use too much softener.

Reasons of ending the program without spinning as a result of detecting

unbalanced load

1) When you use the machine with less laundry, laundry may pile up on one side
*Program of the drum. There is the risk of damaging the washing machine when it is
