ERROR CORRECTION

➢ Singular (mobile phone, computer, etc.) → IS / Plural (glasses,


headphones, shoes, sneakers, etc.) → ARE
○ E.g.: It is … / They are …
This (phone) is / These (glasses) are

➢ The subject and verb are OBLIGATORY. The structure of a


sentence in English is: Subject + Verb + Complement.
○ E.g.: It (S) is (V) good (C).

➢ If you write “The product is…” you do not need the “it” because it
is a REPETITION OF THE SAME SUBJECT. It = product.
○ E.g.: It is good = The product is good.
X → It the product is good.

➢ Used for + VERB -ING Vs. Used to + INFINITIVE


○ E.g.: The ball is used for PLAYING football Vs. The ball is
used to PLAY football.

➢ It + IS OR It + VERB
○ E.g.: It is beautiful OR It looks beautiful.
X → It is looks beautiful.

➢ So + adjective → EXAGGERATION Vs. Sentence (cause) + so + sentence


(consequence) → CONNECTOR
○ It is so good that everyone will want it → És TAN bo que tothom ho
voldrà.
Vs. It is good so everyone will want it → És bo AIXÍ QUE tothom
ho voldrà.

➢ COMPARATIVES:
○ Two syllables or less: Adjective + ER.
E.g.: faster, stronger, bigger…
○ Three syllables or more: MORE + Adjective
E.g.: more beautiful, more intelligent, more difficult…

➢ SUPERLATIVES:
○ Two syllables or less: Adjective + EST
E.g.: fastest, strongest, biggest…
○ Three syllables or more: THE MOST + Adjective
E.g.: the most beautiful, the most intelligent, the most
difficult…
