TOUR GUIDING AND TOUR GUIDE
TOUR GUIDING
- an interactive activity in
which a tour guide meets
a tourist or a group of
tourists, and takes them
to a place called a
tourism destination or a
tourist attraction.
TOUR GUIDE
- "one who conducts a tour"
or one with "a broad-based
knowledge of a particular
area whose primary duty is to
inform.
- provides relevant
information, assistance to the
individual tourists or a tour
group. This information is
about culture, history,
heritage, etc.

THOMAS COOK
-The Father of Modern Tourism
-The pioneer of trouble-free travelling and founder of
travel agency
o1841: first excursion train trip
o1856: the first grand tour of Europe to Paris
o1866: He organized his first American tour.
o1874: He introduced “circular notes” (first traveler’s
check) which are accepted by banks, hotels, shops, and
restaurants.

place .
