A. Introduction
A. Introduction
Introduction
Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior High School
student has to undergo work immersion in a business organization/establishment whose work
requirements are related to the specialization. Through this work immersion, the students are
exposed to and become familiarized with work-related environment related to their field of
specialization. “Work immersion is a key feature in the senior high school curriculum. It can be
conducted in different ways depending on the purposes and needs of the learners,” Education
Secretary Leonor Briones said.
The guidelines said work immersion which can range from 80 to 320 hours will enable
Students to become familiar with the workplace, experience workplace simulation and apply
their Competencies in areas of specialization.
“Work immersion will help develop among learners’ life and career skills, and will
prepare them to make decisions on postsecondary education or employment,” the guidelines
read. “Through partnership building, DepEd hopes that partner institutions will provide learners
with work immersion opportunities, workplace or hands-on experience, and additional learning
resources,” it added. The agency said schools may partner with recognized institutions or
organizations to come up with agreements on work immersion for students. As the students are
still minors, DepEd said work immersion requires parental consent.
As I looked over the paradigm created by the steering committee of the K to 12 reform
Program however, I suddenly realized that we had overlooked a major gap in the system.
The curriculum has been reengineered from pre-school to tertiary general education. It is
now seamless, without disruptions caused previously by trifocalization and bureaucratic
structures. We have firmly agreed on what students should know and be able to do after 12 years
of basic education or more (if they go to college).
What is missing is a clear idea of what the term “Immersion” implies. In the approved
latest draft of the Senior High School (SHS) curriculum, students that choose to take the
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood and the Arts and Sports tracks are expected to spend 1,404
hours outside campus, doing “Immersion.”
Our country has had a lot of experience with on-the-job training (OJT) programs on the
Collegiate level. Unfortunately, many (if not most) college OJT students are assigned only to
Insignificant jobs in a company (answering the phone, making photocopies, making coffee that
Sort of thing). Rarely are OJT students expected to produce the same products that regular
Employees produce.
Immersion in SHS will be useless if it is patterned after most of the OJT experiences
Currently being undertaken by college students.
In order to make Immersion meaningful and useful, we need to get the companies and not
Just the schools aware of the educational objectives and processes of K to 12.
The human resources departments of companies have to know what it means to handle
inexperienced adolescents (still with no work ethic but with raging hormones), how to make
them do without pay what adult employees are doing for pay, what the design of the curriculum
Is (Understanding By Design, remember?), what the role of Immersion is in the whole process of
Lifelong learning, and so on. That means training for staff in companies. That means expertise
and funds.
B. Objective of the Work Immersion
1. To improve the students of the TTNH SHS program the enough know skills and abilities
That are related to the needs of the job market in the specific area.
2. To sustain SHS student applicable learning experience by providing and supporting them
to exposure to the real and actual world of workplace ambient.

extraordinary in takes coming from the institution who are expects and excellent in order

4. To build best Work Immersion Partnership with a positive relationship between SHOOL
and the INSTITUTION, the students, faculty, and staff of the schools concerned will be
permit the use of and access to the INSTITUTION workplace materials and equipment as

NARRATIVE
Our Pre-Work Immersion Orientation and Seminar's first day. Mr. Rommel H.
Guadalupe, the person in charge of leading the session, spoke about the work ethics of an intern
student. He taught us that having a strong work ethic is being diligent and dedicated to your task.
It also incorporates the conviction that work has moral value and the development of character
qualities. Employees with strong work ethics should be promoted and given higher positions at
their places of employment. The morality of work is a moral issue because even God recognized
the value of the virtue, and many conservatives believe that being lazy is immoral. A wonderful
topic for debate is the work ethic because everyone needs to work to survive.
The terms and conditions of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) were discussed by
Mr. Edmond Basilio. Before entering the vicinity of the company, you must wear a mask so that
you cannot smell certain chemicals that might be harmful to our health, as he also covered the
right clothes for employee safety. Wearing appropriate clothing is therefore for the benefit of all
employees. Additionally, he discussed the dangers that are present in the area around the
business and the necessary safety measures. He asserts that safety in the factory is never
guaranteed. We must abide by the laws and norms to prevent accidents, else someone can risk
their life and perish.
In the final session of our orientation for pre-work. Mrs. Hazel Kong talked about how
grades are given and the rules we must abide by as intern students. We learned from her how to
create journals and portfolios. Making these journals and portfolios requires following certain
patterns in order to be effective. Mr. Christopher M. Alo, the final speaker of the afternoon,
spoke about creating a cover letter and resume. This letter demonstrates our excitement for the
job for which we are qualified and our aptitude for it. The cover letter should be formal in style,
written in business-like language, and be customized. Last but not least, accurate grammar
checking is necessary.
REFLECTION
Our Pre-Work Immersion Day is today, and there is an orientation and seminar. We can
think that our life is like a candle that is "unti-unting lumiliit" in the morning, but we won't let
that happen. Instead, we must be upbeat and steadfast in order to achieve our objectives.
Working requires time because it is a serious task that requires concentration. Even if it's
difficult, we just need to prepare for it and realize that it will be tough. The price of making
sacrifices is a better future. After some thought in the afternoon, I've decided that perseverance is
the key to success.
I am aware that this is only the beginning of our adventure, so we must take it all in and
make even a minimal effort to succeed. I am aware that working as an intern student in a real-
world setting is a difficult endeavor.
Different speakers have taught me a lot throughout the years. The imported knowledge
will give us some insight into our job immersion. This was a wonderful chance for us to learn
new things and improve our abilities so that we could perform better as immersion students in
the workplaces we were given and as members of society.
A. Problem Encountered
In our Work immersion I observed that there are problems that we encountered that make
our self, think about on how to solve our problem and the one problem is out of supply of outlets
this is the most common problem that we face, because without outlets we can’t do our task
properly because if we use old outlets, there are possible that can be burning or grounding in the
specific area and that why we must be prepared and ready.
Last problem that we encountered is lack of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) this is
the common problem that we encountered in doing our task because if we don’t have a PPE in
doing work immersion there are possible that a person can be injured or have hard time in
cabling and wiring in their specific area and that why me must prepared and ready
B. Suggestion and recommendation
I suggest that in Electrical Installation and Maintenance Trainee/Teacher that they must
have a supply of outlets and PPE for our student to have a good working immersion and to avoid
injuries for their safety and health.
I recommend that the Electrical Installation and Maintenance Trainee/Teacher that they
must teach more student in improving their skills, knowledge and self-confidents in doing
Electrical Installation.
