What is halloween? Halloween is an


international celebration celebrated on October 31, is
celebrated in most parts of the world. Halloween
activities include trick or treat, customes, Halloween
parties, creating pumpkins, visiting haunted
attractions, telling horror stories, etc. Halloween dates
to three thousand years (3000) ago when the Celtic
peoples of Europe celebrated their new year, it was
believed that demons walked in the earth with other
creatures. This ritual served to bid farewell to Lugh, the
god of the Sun. The ancient Celts believed that the line
between this world and the Otherworld narrowed with
the arrival of Samhain, allowing spirits (both
benevolent and malevolent) to pass through. Family
ancestors were invited and honored while harmful
spirits were driven away. The use of costumes and

spirits.
