Directions: After the notes given in class, read both THIS attached article and THIS attached article;
Then address the following prompt using specific information from one or both of the articles.

"Graphic Novels and Comic Books are BETTER than standard novels and short stories."

Both graphic novels and short stories have similar ideas. Reading a graphic novel can be more
entertaining than reading a book, which can entertain students. However, with young readers, it may be
more accessible to convey concepts such as theme and conflict. It all adds up to who’s reading it.
However, in classes where all you do is read short stories on your own, it may be less strenuous to read
a graphic novel than a novel or short story. People who have a hard time understanding long lines of text
would be able to grasp key concepts such as theme.
