Social Media Platforms

The Future is Real Movement

Social media platforms are negatively affecting
Issue the mental health of adolescents and young
adults. The use of filters and the editing of
pictures creates unrealistic beauty standards that

affects mental health

(Zarrabi)
We want social media platforms to be a positive
environment for all users. In order to do that,
How will our there must be laws and regulations in place to
eliminate the use of photo filters and editing. Our
organization help? plan is to not only bring awareness to the issue,
but to create laws that protect adolescents and
young adults from the mental health issues that
arise from the current structure of all social
media platforms.

As the presence of social media has grown, extreme

face and body altering filters have taken over every
platform making it impossible to escape the
unrealistic standards set by top performing
influencers.

Slogan:

Be You.
(FreePik)

“Be You” as a slogan is simple, to the point, and

easy to remember and understand. We wanted to
create a slogan that is also relatable because
everyone just wants to be “enough”.

Our slogan will bring awareness to our

organization and our movement with minimal
effort while maintaining an encouraging message
to our target audience.
Target Audience The Future is Real Movement is all about bringing
reality to social media, specifically for the younger
audiences. We want to reach children - college
age individuals that are on social media. We have
found that many children/school aged children
are suffering from mental health struggles due to
the overuse of social media and filters. Not only
do we want to reach the individuals affected, but
we also want to get the word out to the parents.
With the help of the parents this is where
different usage restrictions can be put in place.
Our plan to reach our target audience is through
posters in schools, ads on social media, a trending
hashtag, and promoting new platforms like
BeReal, whose whole purpose is filter-free and
(Hawaii Pacific Health) real, genuine photos.
