Founded by Colonel Eli Lilly in 1876 in Indianapolis, who wanted to create
medicines that were reliable in a time where medicines off the street sold by
suspicious people were not dependable. They were the first company to distribute the
Salk Polio vaccine globally. Eli Lilly & Co. has over 38,000 employees worldwide
with markets across 55 different countries. They mostly sell pharmaceuticals related
to diabetes while also selling pharmaceuticals related to cancer, immunology, and
pain relief. Their yearly revenue is about 28 million dollars per year.
