Entrance Test Notification for Admission into Ph.D. Programme-2022-23

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University invites applications from eligible candidates for admission
into Ph.D. Programme in English, Hindi, Education, History, Political Science, Public
Administration, Sociology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Environmental Science for the
Academic Year 2022-23.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates possessing Master’s Degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University,
with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) are eligible for admission
into the Ph.D. Programme.
Admission Procedure
Admission into Ph.D., Programme shall be through an Entrance Test (Computer Based Test
[CBT]) mode followed by an interview. The applicants who are qualified in
UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SET/M.Phil., tests are exempted from appearing for the Entrance
Test. However, they have to fill in the application form and register themselves for the
admission by paying the required fee and face the interview.
Medium
The medium of instruction and examination for Ph.D., Entrance Test, course work and writing
dissertation/thesis shall be English only. In case of languages, the medium of instruction and
other activities shall be in the language concerned.
1. The Ph.D. Entrance Test result is valid for one time only for the year mentioned in the
Admission Notification. (Admission Notification-2022-23).
2. A candidate is allowed to appear for only one subject in the Entrance Test.
3. The Syllabus of the various subjects for Ph.D., Entrance test is available in the university
website www.braouonline.in . Candidates may download the syllabus of the concerned
subject from the above website.
How to Apply
The registration for Ph.D. Entrance Test is through Online only. The candidates are advised to
visit the University portal www.braouonline.in to fill the prescribed application form and
register by paying a fee of Rs. 1500/- (Rs.1000/- in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD). The procedure for
payment of Registration fee is available in the website. The Entrance Test will be held at
Hyderabad only. For further details contact Director (Academic) 040-23544741/040-

Important Dates:
1. Commencement of Registration for Online application: 13-04-2023
2. Last date without late fee: 08-05-2023
3. Last date with a late fee of Rs. 500: 12-05-2023
The candidates have to download the Hall tickets from university website from 16-05-2023 and
affix the latest passport size photograph (which is exactly similar to the on uploaded in the
Online application) in the space provided and get it attested by a Gazetted Officer/Principal of
the College, without the hall ticket the candidate is not allowed to appear for entrance test.

Date & Time of Ph.D., Entrance Test: 20-05-2023 (from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.)
