The emotions.

What are the emotions?.

Emotions are emotional states that we experience : Joy , sadness , anger ,

fear , disgust , they are known to all of us but they don’t cease to have
complexity psychologically , emotions alter attention , raise certain behaviors
, guide responses of the individual and activate relevant associative networks
in memory.

Feelings are the result of emotions. They organize in a quickly way the
responses of different biological system , facial expressions , muscles , voice ,
autonomic nervous system activity.

Emotion classes

Physiological : It’s the first physical reaction that we have against the stimuli
involuntarily , for example , when we accelerate breathing , sweating ,
hormonal changes , etc.

Cognitive : this element processes the types of emotions on a conscious

levels as it is were a kind of evaluation of the stimuli , so it influences our
subjective experience.

Behavioral: This element is the one that generates a changes in our behavior
and the way we expresses from this changes for example , the gestures of the
face, the postures that our body takes etc.

Human emotional development

First months: From the first month , the baby has the ability to recognize
positive and negative emotions.
Childhood: By two years , they are able to show empathy to reflecting the
feeling of understanding it , at approximately four years of age , they can
recognize basic emotions , and also understand how these feelings generate
different responses.

Adolescense: at this stage the social part is emphasized in the recognition of

emotions . The self-assessment is developed from the interaction with others
that is why , between the ages of eleven and fifteen , their own and other
people’s emotions are recognized , as well as the rules of expression.

Adulthood: In adulthood , it is expected that the subject has the ability to

identify and recognize their own and others emotion as well as exercise
proper control of them taking into account emotional intelligence.

Types of emotions we can feel

Joy: Joy is a positive innate emotion that we experience from birth and that
as we grow up becomes a great source of motivation.

Sadness: Sadness is a type of negative emotion in which we make an

assessment process about something that has happened. Something very
interesting about sadness as an emotion is that we can also experience it if
someone who is important to us is going through that loss or failure. This loss
or failure can be real or probable and permanent or temporary.

Fear: Fear is one of the emotions that has aroused the most interest in
research on human emotions. It is about the emotion we experience when
we are faced with what we consider a real danger and our physical or mental
well-being is threatened.

Disgust: Disgust is the emotion we experience when something disgusts us,

so a tension arises that seeks to avoid or reject that stimulus. It is a defense
mechanism that we have to protect our body, which is why nausea is often
one of the answers.

Anger: The last of the basic types of emotions is anger and it arises as a self-
protection mechanism when we feel offended by other people, mistreated or
when we see that an important person for us is the one they offend,
generating an affective state of indignation, anger, frustration.

Some people have stopped showing their feelings. There are so many
experiences that we carry in our backpack that, in one way or another, we
have learned to live in constant repression, blurring our affections, our fears
or our passions to adapt to a state of emotional repression and I say this
because I personally , I’m very hateful, but when I know people in a better
way I am different , I deal with people, I am dry, but it is because I do not like
to show my feelings because most people tend to play with them, although I
usually show the opposite, I am a person who is sensitive to which, the least
bit makes me feel bad. I love is helping people to solve their problems
because if there is something I adore it is helping people ... Even though I
always fall I try to get up and never give up, I keep going, giving my best,
demonstrating to other people that even if it costs me I can always get ahead
with a lot of effort and courage
