BEING

A LEADER IS TO BE A STRONG

TREE, WITH A SOLID AND FLEXIBLE

TRUNK THAT ALLOWS THE SAP FLOW

BETWEEN ITS ROOTS AND BRANCHES.

WHAT DOES LEADERSHIP
MEAN TO ME?

Leadership is about guiding others to achieve a goal or

work towards a common purpose. Leadership to me
includes leading by example, creating relationships
with your group, and doing everything you can to
support members.

WHAT WOULD YOU
LIKE AS AN
EMPLOYEE, TO
THRIVE?
As an employee, I like regular check ins and
plenty of feedback to help me grow. I like
when my leader is confident in my work
and sets me up for success.
AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP
• Authentic leadership interested me most • This fits into 21st century needs because it

• This style best suits me because I often feel

hard to follow and put into actions.
Authentic leadership is about being
yourself and supporting a team through
action.

SUMMARY
Reflecting on this course, I am confident in my choice with
authentic leadership and how that will tie into my future as a
leader. I think authentic leadership is a role I will continue to grow
into as I’m being self-aware and continuing to improve everyday. It
is important to constantly reflect on your own performance and
how you are leading as well.
Seeing my questionnaire results from that chapter, I want to
continue to work on being open to feedback and giving feedback
to others, in both negative and positive ways. I want to hear out my
followers opinions, ideas, and how they would like to be
supervised. I want to work as a team rather than simply leader and
follower.
