TEXTBOOKS/OUTSIDE READING
The required textbooks for this class are Songs and Hymns from the Heart Songbook from North Valley
Publications, Why I left the Contemporary Christian Music Movement by Dan Lucarini, and Why I Don’t Listen to
Contemporary Christian Music by Shelly Hamilton. All these books must be purchased by Tuesday February 14,
2023. Why I left the Contemporary Christian Music Movement by Dan Lucarini must be brought to class each time
the class meets.
The required reading for this class is Why I left the Contemporary Christian Music Movement by Dan Lucarini and
Why I Don’t Listen to Contemporary Christian Music by Shelly Hamilton. These books must be read by Tuesday
April 18, 2023.
CLASS NOTEBOOK
Class notes must be turned in twice this semester on March 14, 2023 and April 25, 2023. Grades for typed notes
with a color cover page will begin with an “A.” Notes will be graded for content and presentation. Appearance
matters!! Students must use a footnote to identify borrowed notes and the reason for borrowing. The 2 nd notebook is
accumulative. Please refer to the Notebook Format Handout for specific requirements for this project.
PAPER
There will not be a paper for this class this semester.

NOTICE OF DUE DATE POLICY


If class if is cancelled, any assignments and/or exams that were due for the cancelled class will be due the next time
the class meets. It is your responsibility to make up anything you might have missed.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students will have assigned seating in alphabetical order beginning the second day of class. Students must sit in
assigned seats even if they are late to class. If an assigned seat is empty, the student assigned there will be marked
absent. All students are also required to swipe in prior to the beginning of class. Students have four weeks to
contest an absence by contacting Luke Flood (luke.flood@nvbc.org) via note or e-mail. After four weeks, absence
records cannot be changed.
