Dove is a very popular soap in the U.S. , and many reasons people buy the soap is
because if the ad on tv, the ad says “Dove is committed to representing the beauty of diversity.”
Which in fact means no matter the skin tone, it will always work. The picture I chose was the
picture of the women on the billboard ad of them in a white bra sets. In the picture you can
obviously see there are 7 beautiful women of all skin colors in front of a white background and
blue letters that are formed to say “we see beauty all around us.” As I am reading in the source it
states, “ Beyond its advertising, Dove launched a self-esteem project in 2004, which provides a
slew of resources to teach young people about body positivity, confidence, and self-esteem.”
This phrase should kind put a key in your head that this is the meaning behind the billboard ad.
The white wallpaper as you can see in the background makes their skin pop more. The
white background can also mean pure, clean, and nice feeling. Like the way the soap could
possibly makes them feel. The white background is definitely telling us something but I can not
possibly pin point what the picture is actually trying to tell us. Of course I could make
assumptions but that is something I’d rather not do. It could also portray the bottle , since the
The different skin tones in the ad makes us think deeper than just thinking “oh they are
just showing us different skin tones so eveyone can buy it.” But in actuality its more like “ Dove
actually makes the skin feel pure, no matter the skin tone , it works the same way no matter if

you’re pink, purple, or blue it will always do the same to each skin tone there is out there in the
world. It even goes as far as the skin type like dry, soft, smooth, and wrinkly. The ad is most
likely trying to prove that Dove does not affect any type of skin there is out there in the world.
And when I say this I mean my mom could use it , her mom can use it , her mom mom’s can use
it and even more. They did a beautiful thing with this ad just because they didnt jst use one type
of skin tone not even the same age. This ad speaks value to many people. Im not supposed to
share my opinion, but I believe that dove is an amazing soap. That soap does great on my body ,
evn my face. I get out of the shower feeling like a brand new woman , and that is what this ad is
trying to portray, you should feel very confident after you use the soap once again. Feeling like
no matter what you look like , you should feel like a GREAT WOMAN!!!!
The white garments that they had on were a symbol of pureness, cleanliness, and also
self-esteem. Thats actually a great way to represent those thing because it shows that no matter
your body type , skin type, Dove is going to do its magic. Its also showing that after you use
dove , you should definitely feel confident and feeling your best self no matter what. I seen this
ad for dove that was somewhat similar when they have different women take a shower and
actually use the dove soap , and when they get out they will give the soap a review. Most women
were like it make their skin much softer. The more I look at this picture it reminds me so much of
that video.
This image should definitely speak wayyyy more value to us older women , due to it
being women a tad bit older on the ad. It speaks body positivity , and being confidence.
According to the source, “#RaisetheBeautyBar, which asks women to pledge to redefine beauty
for themselves and young girls to challenge preconceived notions about attractiveness. “It’s more

than just a hashtag, it’s a call to action,” Kathy O’Brien, the vice president of skin and marketing
services for Unilever who oversees Dove’s campaigns, told Motto in a phone interview. “We
