Commissioning Services

Davis Controls service will assist in the installation and start-up of the hardware being
proposed. This service assumes that the flow computers and junction boxes are mounted,
appropriate conduit (if required) is run to the pipes, insulation is completely removed from
the sensor locations (flow and temp transducer) and temperature extension cable is pulled
to the flow computer and transducers and temperature junction boxes, and A/C power is
connected to the meter. Davis Controls service engineer will be responsible for installing
straps and transducers and performing calibration and commissioning of each system.

COMMISSIONING Scope of Work: (Temperature sensors optional)

Work Performed by Other (Electrician / Insulation):
 Mount Flexim transmitter electronics. Typically wall or pipe mounted.
 Removal of ALL insulation from both FLOW and TEMPERATURE sensor locations
 Run conduit and install AC power to transmitter.
 Mount Transducer and Temperature junction boxes near pipe where transducers and
temperature sensors will be mounted.
 Run conduit for transducer extension cables and pull transducer extension cable from
transmitter to transducer junction box. Terminate cables at flow computer and transducer
junction box if required (as per installation drawings).
 Run conduit for temperature extension cables (the temperature can be in the same conduit with
the flow cables). Pull temperature extension cable from transmitter to temperature junction box
if required. Terminate cables at temperature junction box (as per drawings).
 Re-Insulation of piping after Flexim installs the transducers and temperature sensors on
the pipe. Davis is not responsible for removal or re-insulation of piping.
Work Performed by Davis Controls:
 Install Transducers and Temperature sensors on Pipe.
 Check and complete cable terminations.
 Program and commission meter. All required parameters will be programmed into transmitter.
The transmitter will be verified for performance and accuracy using signal strength and sound
speed diagnostics.

Reporting:
 Provide data sheet for each meter and summary report upon conclusion of the project.

Verification testing of existing permanently installed Flexim BTU meters

1. Verification of flow measurement

a. Record as found data of the meter (Device Under test – DUT)
b. Verify Operation of DUT
c. Calibrate Flow Rate of DUT (if required)
d. Record as left data of the DUT

2. Documentation of Field Service Trip

a. Field Service Trip Report with Summary & Analysis
b. Calibration Data Sheet(s) of Customer Meter(s)

Required Assistance from On Site Personnel GC and/or Customer:

Escort and access to the installation sites. Assistance with the use of Ladders, External Power,
Lighting, Security Clearance, and Lifts/Scaffolding if required.
NOTE: It is a prerequisite for this work to have flow in the pipes at the time of our
installation of the meter. A report of the meter verification will be supplied with each
meter.

Responsibilities of the customer:

 To provide process media parameters as per FAST form

 Required measurement range and units of measure
 Safety watch, monitors, rescue
 Scaffolding as required
 Safety harness if required
 Gas tests if required
 Personal H2S or O2 monitor if required
 Radiation check / personal dosimeters if required
 All permits to be completed in a timely manner
