Homework: Fluency Checks Feedback – Due Monday 16th of January 2023

The area I have chosen to work on from this week’s Fluency Check is: Pie Charts

I have done this using (Circle one): MyMaths Google Classroom Videos Other:........................

My notes on this ONE topic (include diagrams or annotations to help with making good notes):

This is a pie chart:

A pie chart is a type of graph that represents the data in a circle

graph. The slices of pie show the size of the chunks of data, and it is a type of picture
data representation. What I mean by that is, let's say you have done a survey with
a classroom. You ask them for their favourite sport. Let’s say that 50% chose
football, 20% chose basketball, 10% chose baseball, 10% chose cricket, and the
remaining 10% chose other things. the chart would look something like this:

So to sum it all up, pie charts are ways to

use/collect qualitative data in a pie.

Two examples to show that I now understand this (one of which will be used in a future fluency
check):
Jesse and Walter are eating a pizza. Jesse A man called Gustavo owns a shop. His shop
takes 2/3 of the pizza and Walter takes ⅓ of has this rating system. The rating system of his
the pizza. display a pie chart to represent this gets 75% good votes, 24% bad votes, and 1%
statement of Jesse and Walter. not sure. display this in a pie chart.
