ABSTRACT

Identification of variation genetic is the first step to find how much genetic variation contained
in a genotype. Now, the genetic material of palm oil has an inbreeding depression so the
genetic identification in moleculer level is important. The use of RAPD can be used as an
alternative to identifiying the moleculer level diversity. The main problem at the moleculer level
identification are primers was used are not compatibel with the composition of the target base
nucleotide. The objective of this experiment was to find genetic variation in palm oil
(E. guineensi Jacq.) by using three RAPD primers. Results of this experiment only two
informative RAPD primers to show genetic variation.
