Higantes festival is a celebration initiated by the Municipality of Angono to express thanks to Saint

Saint Clement.The parade of Giants is held on Sunday before the town fest on November 23. On angono
folklore the ‘higante’ was used as a sign of agrarian protest during the waning years of the colonization
of Spanish when angono was a hacienda.they use the higantes to mock the bad hacienda or the land
owner in the Spanish colonial rule. The costume of higantes festival is a giant papier mache puppets with
people inside them. Many forms of the giant puppet is based on the specialty of a village for an example
if the village is known for their balut delicacy they would create a higante with a duck shaped head
however they continue to have their higantes to have human heads with many shape and size.higante
festival might be possible the earliest form of puppetry in the Philippines. To make a three meter tall
higante it usually takes a month to it, the most hard part to make is the head because its made of paper
strips. The body of the higante is made out of rattan or bamboo strips to make it easier for the
puppeteer to carry it during the the festival which normaly take a long rime finish.

Moriones Festival
Moriones festival is held annually on the holy week on the island of Marinduque in the Philippines.the
participants use morion mask to depic the roman soldiers and mercenary in the story of passion of the
Christ.the morion helmet was named ater 16 and 17 th century.the morions roam the town in holy
