"Gifted" is a heartwarming drama film directed by Marc Webb and starring


Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, and Lindsay Duncan. The film set in 2017 Florida,
the story of a single man named Frank who is raising his brilliant seven-year-old
niece, Mary, after her mother is dead. Frank wants to give Mary a normal
childhood despite her exceptional mathematical abilities, but their great life is
disturbed when Mary's grandmother, Evelyn, discovers her granddaughter's gifts
and wants to take her away. "Gifted" is a touching exploration of family, love, and
the challenges of raising a gifted child.

The story of ‘Gifted’Frank Adler, a single man who is raising his brilliant
seven-year-old niece, Mary Adler. Despite her exceptional mathematical abilities,
Frank is determined to give Mary a normal childhood and enrolls her in a local
public school. However, Mary's cleverness is soon discovered by her teacher, who
recommends her for a special program for gifted children. This prompted Mary's
estranged grandmother, Evelyn, to enter the picture and demand custody of her
granddaughter, intending to enroll her in a prestigious school for gifted children.
Frank fights to keep Mary in his care, leading to a legal battle that forces both
Frank and Evelyn to confront their past and reconsider what is truly best for Mary.
Along the way, the film explores themes of love, family, and the challenges of
raising a gifted child. The story is both heartwarming and thought-provoking,
making for a truly engaging viewing experience.

The direction by Marc Webb is understated and effective, allowing the story
and characters to take center stage. The editing is seamless, and the pacing of the
story is well-executed. The costume and set design are simple but effective,
reflecting the working-class background of the characters. The photography by
Stuart Dryburgh is beautiful, capturing the natural beauty of the film's coastal

My reaction to "Gifted" is one of warmth and admiration. The film tells a


poignant story about family, love, and the importance of human connection. It is a
moving and relatable portrayal of the struggles and joys of parenthood and the
challenges of raising a gifted child. In my opinion, the quality of the film is
excellent, and it is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted and
emotionally resonant story.
