Stress
• The physiological or psychological
response to internal or external
stressors. Stress involves changes
affecting nearly every system of the
body, influencing how people feel and
behave

Chronic Stress
• The physiological or psychological
response to a prolonged internal or
external stressful event. The stressor
need not remail physically present to
have its effects; recollection of it can
substitute for its presence and sustain
chronic stress
• (APA, 2015)
Trauma
• Any disturbing experience that results in significant
fear, helplessness, dissociation, confusion, or other
disruptive feelings intense enough to have a long-
lasting negative effect on a person’s attitudes,
behavior, and other aspects of functioning.
• Traumatic events include those caused by human
behavior as well as by nature and often challenge and
individual’s view of the world as a just, safe, and
predictable place
• Any serious physical injury

Stress dan Trauma
Stress adalah tekanan yang terus menerus datang dan menjadi beban

Trauma adalah robekan, suatu kejadian yang menyakiti individu sehingga


kondisi tidak bisa kembali seperti sedia kala
Stress dan trauma dapat terjadi bersamaan

Keduanya dapat berujung pada menurunnya Kesehatan mental individu


Trauma dan Gangguan
• Peristiwa traumatik sangat banyak
ditemui di kehidupan sehari-hari
• Ada individu yang tidak mengalami
gangguan Kesehatan mental sehari-hari
meskipun mengalami trauma
• Trauma yang menyebabkan gangguan
berkepanjangan biasanya muncul karena
represi, penanganan yang terlambat,
kurangnya dukungan sosial atau factor
biopsikososial lainnya
