Our Story
At Elon’s Campus Recreation & Wellness, we provide a variety of recreational
and educational facilities, programs, and services. We strive to contribute to
holistic wellness for students, faculty, and staff by providing access to
recreational and educational experiences. We work to foster a sense of
community by empowering individuals to cultivate positive wellness values and
behaviors that last throughout their time at Elon. On behalf of the Campus
Recreation & Wellness department, we wanted to extend our gratitude for
supporting these efforts. One of our priorities is to continue engaging with the
RecWell community.

Love Your Body Week Recap

From February 20 to 24, Campus Recreation & Recreation hosted many

events to celebrate Love Your Body Week! Throughout the week, students
both learned about self-love and holistic well-being as well as put those
practices into action. Thanks to ELOA, SPARKS, and Group Exercise
for planning events and educational opportunities to bring body-positivity
to our campus.

Getting Your Group Involved with RecWell

At Campus Recreation & Wellness, we offer many opportunities for individuals

to work on their mental and physical well-being. However, there are many ways
for your group, such as a club, sports team, coworkers, or greek organizations,
to get involved as well! Your group can schedule private events with Campus
Recreation & Wellness, such as group exercise classes, personal training
sessions, or S'mores with Outdoors. Additionally, South Gym houses open
recreation for soccer, pickleball, and badminton that your group can take
advantage of! To book your group for any of these private activities, click here!

Health EU Day

Tuesday, March 21 is the first annual HealthEU Day! Join us in celebrating our
holistic well-being initiative with a day full of fun. HealthEU is hosting a table at
college coffee, educational sessions throughout the day, and a wellness fair
from 11-2 outside of Koury Athletic Center. Additionally, there will be
presentations, wellness opportunities, special group exercise classes, and prize
giveaways throughout the day. Check out the Today at Elon Article for the full
schedule!

Be an AIL Summer Facilitator!

Adventures in Leadership (AIL) is a summer experience for incoming first-
years taking place July 5-24. Campus Recreation & Wellness is currently
accepting applications for facilitators on PhoenixConnect until March 5. AIL
is a great opportunity to mentor first-year student through outdoor
experiences to ease their transition to Elon. If you have any questions
about AIL and the facilitator position, please reach out to Dan Linares.

SPARKS Tips for A Safe Spring Break

— Spring break is still a BREAK! If you need time to rest and recuperate, take
the time over break to do so.
— You do not have to drink over break to have fun! The choice to drink is your
own and you do not need substance to enjoy yourself. Know that it is okay to
set boundaries for what you want to do and remember to respect the
boundaries set by others!
– If you are going to drink over break, remember to drink lots of water, check
your medications to prevent negative interactions, and do not leave your drink
unattended!
— Practice safe sex and remember that consent is key. Use barrier methods of
contraception to reduce chances of pregnancy and STIs.
