    The linearized Euler equations for inviscid flow in two dimensions are presented. The equations relate the perturbations of velocity, pressure, and density from a reference state. Taking the exponential form of the perturbed quantities allows the equations to be combined to get an equation for the perturbation of pressure over time and space involving its second derivative and a term containing the wave number. Taking the y-derivative of the perturbation of velocity in the y-direction allows the y-derivative of pressure to be substituted in, resulting in an equation that can be solved for the perturbation of pressure.
