To me, this quote means that the best thing we can

do for our children is to allow them to go their own

way and develop according to their unique abilities
and interests. The key words in this quote are "to go
their own way" and "to stand completely on their
own feet", which means independence, autonomy
and freedom of choice. I agree with this statement
because I believe that everyone has the right to
choose their own path in life and parental support
should help children to do this. More often than not,
children are more successful and more satisfied
with life when they are allowed to follow their own
path and develop according to their unique
interests. For example, I have seen a case where a
person was forced to follow a path prescribed by
their parents, so they could not fulfil their potential
in something they really enjoyed. I also know many
successful people who have had the opportunity to
choose their own path and stand on their own two
feet. This confirms that allowing children to follow
their own path can lead to greater self-confidence,
greater motivation and better life outcomes.
However, there is an argument that some children
cannot make their own decisions and need parental
guidance. Some parents think it is better to help
their children avoid mistakes they have made in the
past. However, this may prevent children from
gaining the experience they need to develop
decision-making skills and manage their own lives.
Instead, they may become dependent on their
parents for support and not be able to fully support
themselves in the future. In the end, I believe that
the best thing we can do for our children is to allow
them to follow their own path and develop
according to their interests and abilities. This will
help them to become independent, self-reliant and
confident in their future. Parental support and
guidance are certainly necessary, but they should
help children to make their own decisions and
develop their own skills rather than enacting their
own wishes and ideas. After all, letting our children
go their own way is the best legacy we can leave
them, setting them up for future success and
happiness.
